New quest?, Codename: Project Zeta

I know I've been pretty much idle in the ZQuest department lately, but I have been brainstorming a lot lately, gathering ideas for a new quest, and so far, I've just come up with what might become a new quest. This will be different from most quests though... it will feature the style of gameplay from Super Mario 64 and the Banjo-Kazooie series, where you collect a ton of a certain item; for example, stars, shines (ala SMS), and jiggies. I've come up with several ways to do this:

• Keys: I think this will probably be what I use. Simple ZQuest item that works great for unlocking areas. I'll obviously just change the key sprite to something else. You'll use these keys to get past a ton of... somethings in a dungeon. This would work much better if you could have multiple lock blocks on a screen, but for now you have to go through a corridor of rooms. After that, an event will activate, and the level will be opened. Simple.
• Events: This would be very effective.. but oh, the DMap space this would take up... I plan to have a total of 80 keys in the quest, 10 for each world.. including the overworld. That alone would take up a ton of dmaps. This idea is pretty much a no-go.

Like I said earlier, I plan to have 80 keys in the quest (the keys will be changed to something else, though), which you'll collect through a number of different ways. There will be 7 different worlds for you to run around, and then you will be able to check out the overworld itself. There'll probably be 10 keys per world. I've already planned some of the overworld, and I'm also sketching a few areas into my head, too. Basically, this quest is going to turn out long and complicated, but worth it in the long run, if I ever finish it. Though it may take a while...

Basically, keep your eyes open for more news in the future. I may actually get stuff done now.
