It wasn't very often that Narcissa Black got even halfways close to the Muggle World. Not only did she hate everything about it, she feared it. But this particular Wednesday was different; the eighteen-year-old was venturing to the Leaky Cauldron, for no particular reason. Well, she was actually on a mission to get gossip to tell Bellatrix, but she was the only one who knew that.

Frantically nodding her blonde head at the person sitting before her, Narcissa made her best attempt to seem as polite as possible. She hadn't known before how grungy the place was, and to sit in the small pub was even worse. "That's lovely!" Narcissa exclaimed in false joy. "Tell your wife I'm happy for her. Children must be wonderful." Slowly rising from her spot, she gave a coy smile and turned on her heel, desprete to get away.

Desperation added to the fact that Narcissa had no sense of direction could have been why she ended up where she was. Pushing out of the door, Narcissa's eye widened at the cobblestone street and the hustle and bustle of people. This couldn't be Diagon Alley, could it? These people were dressed so strangely to Narcissa, it took her several minutes to comprehend where she was, considering she was scolding their fashion sense.

Narcissa pulled her crimson painted bottom lip into her mouth, trying to avoid whimpering. She'd been to Muggle London once before, but never had she been there alone. She took a long intake of air before she scooted to the side and sat herself on a vacant bench, her eyes wide with shock. 'Why don't you go back into the pub?' Narcissa's mind suggested, but she quickly tossed the idea away. If people saw her in her current state, they'd call her a baby and accuse her of things. Worst of all, it would somehow travel back to Lucius.

Narcissa had been sitting at the bench several minutes before someone stood infrom of her transfixed eyes, and they slowly made their way up to the persons face. May I help you, miss? It was an eldery muggle man, who seemed rather curious about Narcissa's ... problem. Shaking her head, Narcissa offered a small pout, and watched the man slowly walk away.

'If anyone ever finds out that a non-magic Mudblood talked to you ...'

Lily stormed out of her house, her anger sparked by her father. She knew her father wasn't pleased to hear that she had the intention of moving into the Wizarding World for a period of time, but he could at least respect her decision. She was a witch after all. How could he expect her to live in the Muggle World and pretend as if magic didn't exist before? Sure, he had been supportive of her going to Hogwarts to pursue studies of witchcraft, but if she wasn't allowed to use magic in the Muggle World. So what was the point of studying then?

She paused outside her driveway, glancing back. Petunia was at the window, staring at Lily with a smirk on her face. Lily knew Petunia didn't like her, and this caused her to feel hurt. After all those things she did to get Petunia to like her, it still didn't work; if anything, it made Petunia hate her more. Lily didn't want to think her older sister was jealous of her - she didn't want to think bad of her sister at all - but it was depressing to feel Petunia's hatred for her. Lily sighed, and turned away.

Where was James? He had promised he'd pick her up after Lily collected her belongings from her home. James had wanted to meet her parents, but Lily protested, and told him this wasn't the perfect day. Thank goodness for women's intuition. If he were to meet her parents today, her father was sure to put all the blame of her moving out onto James, and Lily didn't want that. She was starting to feel more sensitive towards James's feelings after a year of dating; and besides, she knew him too well to know that he'd start arguing with her father. And that would be goodbye to acceptance.

Lily frowned. If James was going to be late then she'd rather go herself. One hand holding a large backpack, she stalked down the road, forcing a smile on her lips when she met her neighbours. Her eyes found old Uncle Rawson, who was heading towards her.

There is a lady up front there who's dressed strangely, was all he muttered before hobbling away from the redhead. Curious, Lily went off in the direction his finger was pointing to, and found, to her amazement, a familiar blonde.

Her lips parted in surprise as she approached Narcissa cautiously. "Narcissa Black?" she asked slowly, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "What are you doing here?"

Narcissa had changed positions on the bench several times before she had returned to sitting. The uneasy aura that surrounded her must have been noticeable to the muggles; several had the nerve to ask her if she was okay, or if she needed anything. Until, of course, one had the stupid idea of sitting down.

Flickering her eyes to the person next to her, Narcissa blinked and scooted her body closer to the arm of the bench, her nose crinkling and her eyes closing tight, as if there was a wreched stick around. Are you okay, miss? You look lost ... and very confused. "I am!" Narcissa screeched loudly, before propping her elbow on the arm and placing her forehead in her palm. "I'm a witch! A witch! And I'm stuck here with you Mudbloods!" Her last word was said with uncontrolable malice.

I think we should take you to the hospital. You need some help.

A smile lit up Narcissa's face as she turned to the muggle, suddenly seeming engrossed. "St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and whatsit? Oh, goodie!" She giggled giddily, her uneasyness obviously causing a strange effect on her disposition. St. Mungo's?

Narcissa's face fell as she looked away, giving a wave of her hand as if the muggle were a house elf. "Go away!" she ordered, her tone hateful and rude. "You do not deserve to even lay eyes on someone like me!" The bench creaked quietly as the Mudblood stood and walked away, his head shaking oddly.

"Narcissa Black? What're you doing here?"

Feeling her breath catch in her throat, Narcissa glanced up at the redhead, and beamed. 'I'm rescued,' she thought despretely, flinging herself towards Lily, snaking her arms around the girl. "Oh, Lily! I'm so confused," she wept, burying her blonde head in the girl's shoulder. "Do you know where we are?" she questioned, though her words were very muffled.

To say she was shocked to see Narcissa here in London was too simple. Loud whispers entered her ears from all around them, and one look told Lily that her passerbys thought Narcissa crazy. She grimaced then; she didn't think it would do them good if Narcissa knew what they thought of her.

Then Narcissa hugged her, forcing all kinds of thoughts out of her head. W-was she crying? The ex-Head Girl patted Narcissa on the shoulder soothingly. From the looks - and sounds - of it, it would seem that Narcissa was lost. Just as she thought. The sky would fall should Narcissa be interested in coming to Muggle London.

"London," Lily said slowly, and even though she knew the answer, she asked, "Are you lost?" She smiled amicably at the blonde. "I was just heading to The Leaky Cauldron. Did you come from there?"

(Sorry for the short reply: writer's block. Bleh.)

"Lily!" James yelled her name from where he stood. He had been wandering on and on for hours, the Muggle London was definitely the most dangerous place for a lost wizard. Honestly, he thoguht he'd never see another wizard until the next lifetime.

He pushed his way rather rudely - the crowd seem to be in the some kind of conspiracy to keep him away from Lily - and stood just behind Narcissa, though he had no idea who she was. Yet.

"LilyImsorryforbeinglatehonestlylondonisveryverybig..." He tried to say in one single breath, but couldn't hold it much longer. Taking a deep breath, he calmed down a little and offered a weak smile, "Sorry dear."

Lily released the blonde the minute she heard the familiar voice of her boyfriend. She frowned at him; as glad as she was to see him, it wasn't exactly the best time for James to appear. For once, Lily was talking to Narcissa Black, evil cousin of Sirius or not.

Her frown, however, vanished to form an amused smile that showed her left dimple at James's rambling. "You are late," she said solemnly to James, her eyes twinkling mischieviously. "That calls for some punishment afterwards."

Punishment? She didn't mention punishment, he thought rather frightfully. "Well, it... I-I was early. Really, but honestly, Lon-London is so... large... so-so I couldn't find my way!" He stammered a bit too much than he originally intended and finished rather weakly - but at least he has an excuse.

Now noticing the blonde who stood somewhere near Lily, he frowned. WHere had he seen her before? "I say, Lily, who's that you were hugging?"

Lily smoothered a laugh and grinned at James. "Fine, Potter," she said in exaggerated formality (?). "You are forgiven this time. Make me wait again and I'll..." She waved her finger in what she hoped was a threatening way.

The redhead rolled her eyes then. "Honestly," Lily muttered. "You were the HeadBoy. How could you not know?" She smiled at the blonde, hoping to see her tears had dried up. "It's Narcissa."

"Correction, I used to... but then, if you insist," he added with a boyish grin before turning to Narcissa. It was rtaher suprising to see her crying... after all, most of the time he had seen her - she looked like someone left dung under her nose. Not that he would care to mention this in front of Lily.

Well, it wasn't a very nice thing to think of right now, but James simply couldn't help pitying her. Oh, Sirius would kill him if he could read his mind now...

"You alright?" he said rather gruffly - it was a cross between a kind and hateful tone. He couldn't help it, after all... she was one of those Blacks he never liked - except Andromeda and Sirius.
