Kagami yawned as she walked into the store. She didn't exactly know the Slytherin Common Room's password so she couldn't get in. No one even told her! Well, maybe it was because they just didn't like her. But the people who were okay with her said she was just misunderstood. The only living creatures that treated as an equal were animals. Once when she was small she had this little parrot. It was mistreated so Kagami took it in and kept him as a pet. The only one she knew who ever acted nice to her. But just recently he passed away. So that's why she was here. She wanted to replace her feathery friend.
She looked around at the different animals. She could see almost every animal she good think of! real animals and mythical creatures! It was amazing to know magic and be able to come and see these amazing animals.
Kagami spotted a sort of, bird like creature. It seemed to be a snake with wings! Weirdly enough, Kagami liked it! Even though it looked ugly and scary she thought of it as adorable.
It was a dirt brown color all over with black diamonds on it's back. It really seemed to represent her. The snake resembled her house, Slytherin. And the wings really just reminded her of her old parrot.
Tounge flickered out of the serpent's mouth as it slithered closer and closer to the girl. It flicked it's tongue out at her.
Poking a finger into the bars of the cage she giggled. The snake gentle crawled into her hand.
"It seems he likes you." a voice yelled aloud.
Kagami looked back to see the shopkeeper, "How much is he?".
"One galleon. You don't find many of these creatures around."
"What! A galleon!!" hands squirming around in her pocket. She did have a few but then...her parents said not to spend it...Oh well! She lifted the galleon and gave it the shopkeeper. "If you don't mind I'd like to stay longer."
She nodded and left to the backroom.
Kagami watched her leave and then started playing with her new pet.
