Searching For A Secret

[Colubra Malfoy]

Colubra walked in with the two girls, and after a few moments managed to find the statue he was looking for. "Now how did he say it opened again? Ah," he said, tapping it on each eye, then the nose, muttering, "Revalen." the statue jumped aside and there was a small opening you had to duck and crouch to get through. Though inside was what seemed a fully furnished room, even with a fireplace, though when Colubra lighted it, it was silenced to not draw any attention to the area. There was a door on the far side, which he guessed probably led to outside the Hogwarts grounds.

"Well ladies, what do you think?"

"Wow," Mona muttered before she could stop herself. She knew there were secret places all over the school, but she had never seen one that looked so much like a normal room.
She examined it carefully, in awe of all the things in there though in any other room she wouldn't have given them a second thought.
"It's amazing," she whispered, she let her voice have emotion in it now, but she didn't let it have too much.
Slowly she walked around, wondering how many people had managed to come here. Wondering what had happened in here and who had created this room. She knew her questions would probably go unanswered, but she didn't care.

[April]

April stepped into the room, fully calmed down. The effects of the squirrel blood seemed to have worn off.
"Hey, this place is nice," she said, looking around the room, impressed.

She followed Mona around the room, taking it all in. Pulling open the door at the end, she peeked out.
A stone passage lead upwards to where she guessed the other entrance to the room must be.

"My cousin certainly did know how to please the ladies, family trait of course," he said with a smirk, thinking for a moment. "Now what was it that he told me, ah yes," he said, taking out his wand and tapping it on the wall before muttering, "Eschaungier." There was a slight pause before the room transformed itself, a large king sized bed, with rose petals, champagne, the whole nine yards appeared in the room. This caused for his smirk to widen. This would have been a good place to hide Raven away, if he could find a way to lock it. No one would know where it was. "What can I say?"

[April]

April smirked, looking around the room.
"Not bad," she said, eyeing it carefully. "Your cousin certainly did know how to please the ladies!"
She suddenly had an image of herself with Cucalen in here, and she mentally hit herself, pushing that image as far away from her brain as possible. There was no way she could like him, no WAY!!

She smirked at Mona, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively at her.

Mona stared in awe of the room for a second, and the slightest frown snuck onto her face. She could just sense April would do something to tease her. She let her gaze fall on April expectantly in time to hear her finish her sentence before moving her eyebrows suggestively.
Mona blushed faintly even though she had suspected it and instantly hated herself for it.
Great, now you probably look guilty of some sick thought, she thought to herself, cursing.
She checked Colubra's face to see if he made any reaction to April's action, or if he even managed to spot it. She only took a quick glance before deciding that it could be better to leave the room.
"We need to find out where the tunnel goes," Mona stated, hoping that she could leave through the tunnel. She cursed herself for not simply stating that she was going into the tunnel, but knew she wasn't that forceful, plus it could be dangerous and she didn't cope the best when it came to fear.

He tapped the wall again, muttering the words and it changed back into the cozy living room. He'd caught the slight exchange between the girls, but decided to pretend he hadn't seen it, as it would probably turn out better for him in the long run. He walked over to the door, opening it and bowed slightly. "After you ladies," he said, smirking ever so slightly.

"Um, thanks," Mona muttered, but still something was worrying her. She had to talk to April soon.
"But why don't you go ahead and find out where it leads, after all, we only need one person to see where it goes," she muttered to Colubra.
I still have to discuss the whole squirrel thing with April, Mona thought, I just hopes she understands what I'm trying to do.
She looked at Colubra hopefully, praying he would accept to go by himself.
I wonder if I seem scared, Mona pondered, if I do it will make this work better, but I'll probably never hear the end of it from April.

[April]

April raised her eyes at Mona. She could tell Mona wanted to talk to her about something, but it really, really would be fun to go and see where the passage went. April never had a chance to have this kind of fun when she was in her younger years, and she was finally breaking her years of silence. She was getting out a little more, she had friends....life was looking up.

But, sighing, she caved in.
"Yeah, I think it would be better if you just worked out where it goes Colubra," she said to him. She wasn't normally one to give up on something like this, but secretly she was hoping he'd make them come along. She really did want to see where that tunnel went!!

He wasn't that dense... he could see that they wanted a little time alone, girl talk about who knows what. However he wasn't too intent on taking the passageway by himself, he was always out for his own safety rather than sacrificing himself, but really... he was just better than everyone else so it made sense. He managed to think up an idea that solved these two predicaments in one.

"I've got a better idea, I think the two of you would do better if you saw where it led, I'll work on putting up some barriers, in case anyone else decides to come snooping," he said, gently leading the two girls inside the passageway before shutting the door behind them, torches inside lighting the way. He smirked, at least if there was some evil monster he wasn't the one that was going to be eaten.

Well, he knows how to protect himself, Mona thought to herself, annoyed slightly by what he did. Even though there was little she couldn't help but start to get nervous.
Once that room is safe for Cucalen I am going to kill Colubra, she thought to herself, but a voice instantly teased back, like I would have the guts to even try and hurt him.
Mona shook her head angrily.
Why do I always put myself down? she questioned, but shrugged it off. If she was in any danger it would be better if she was paying attention to her surroundings.
"Um, April, shall we talk. I really want to understand why you chose to kill a squirrel for food," Mona asked.

[April]

April opened her mouth to say something as Colubra shut the door. She pulled out her wand, making a little sound of disapproval.
Lumos," she muttered, creating a little extra light.

"Now, about the squirrel," April began, looking a little uncomfortable.
"Well, as you already know, I need a fairly regualar supply of food. I was already feeling a bit hungry, and that squirrel was unfortunate enough to cross my path. Squirrels are a good source of food," she finished matter of factly. "Does that help?"

[Desdemona Yew]

Mona sighed. "I guess," she muttered, then a small smile light her face.
"But why didn't you drain Colubra instead?" she asked teasingly with a giggle.
Mona didn't mean it, but she couldn't help but feel hurt when he shoved them into the tunnel instead of going himself.
"Well, I guess we better hurry up and find out where this leads. The sooner we do, the sooner we can leave," Mona suggested and began to walk down the tunnel. She walked until she was just standing outside the circle of light April's wand produced and waited. She wasn't going to just run into the darkness without seeing what was there.

[April]

April grinned slightly.
"Good point! Why didn't I just drain the bastard instead?" she laughed.
She watched as Mona walked just to the edge of the bit of light that her wand created, and rolled her eyes.
"Honestly Mona, there's nothing out there. It'd be very, very hard to hide some dirty great monster in the castle, and surely the teachers would have found it and let us know," she said matter of factly.
She boldly began walking up the tunnel, trying not to show that she was a little cautios (sp?) as well.

((You want something down here? Ok, I'll make something up, but you choose where the tunnel leads!))

Mona looked at April. "How can you be sure nothing's there?" she asked, looking out into the darkness that engulfed the tunnel completely past April's light.
Mona walked by April's side, but stopped her very suddenly after a short while.
"Do you hear that?" Mona asked in a whisper as she stood as still as she could.
She just listened for a moment, then talked again.
"I thought I heard something like a couple of angry snakes or something," she whispered in a close to paranoid fashion.
Calm down, it was probably some pipes, she thought to herself before seeing some movement just outside the circle of light.
"Um, April, is that a runespoor?" Mona whispered as a large, orange and black three-headed slithered into the light.
What is it doing in here? Mona's mind screamed.
