Looking for Trouble

After leaving the ice cream parlor, Alex found Matt. The two of them had wandered around Diagon Alley for the rest of the day, collecting all of their school materials. The list had seemed quite short compared to the ones they'd gotten at their old school. It was actually quite a relief, not having to carry around so many books. Especially since he wasn't planning on using them half the time anyways.

The train ride had been pretty boring. Then again, what was there really to do on a train? You were stuck on the stupid thing from one stop until the next. The only thing that had been fun was buying tons of stuff from the food cart when the lady brought it around. Alex stocked up on everything, and ate almost all of it. He never understood how he could eat so much and not gain any weight.

Once they arrived at school, Alex had decided to wander off around the school grounds. He'd never been there before, and wanted to see what he was dealing with. He knew there was supposed to be a welcome feast in the great hall, but he didn't want to go and sit through that. Not to mention he wasn't very hungry after eating all the food earlier. Scanning the grounds, he spotted a lake, a huge forest, a cabin, all boring. He walked slowly away from the castle and turned towards the forest. Someone behind him said it was forbidden, but he didn't answer. Forbidden. To him, that only meant it was required that you go inside.

As he headed off in the direction of the forest, he pulled his wand out of his robes. Underneath the robes, he still wore muggle clothes. Sure, people here dressed differently, but he wasn't going to follow their trends. He'd wear whatever he pleased. Twirling his wand in his right hand, he rubbed his forehead with the left. When he reached the forest's edge, he turned to make sure no one was looking. When the coast was as clear as it'd get, he turned back around and walked slowly into the forest.

Matt had followed Alex from a distance. He smirked when he seen Alex go into the forest. He looked around before running into it. He spotted Alex a few feet ahead of him. He grinned madly before sneaking up on his twin.

"Looking to get in trouble already?" He asked.

He tilted his head to the side a bit. He couldn't help but smile when Alex jumped and spun around.

"Don't point your wand at me!" He hissed.

Alex had continued to wander along the path deeper into the forest. When he heard something move behind him, he stopped instantly and stood in silence. Normally he wasn't one to get spooked very easily, but he was somewhere that he wasn't familiar with and wasn't sure what he'd encounter if he kept going. Someone spoke behind him, making him turn around, wand raised.

He was about to cast a spell, before he realized it was just his brother. Letting out a sigh, he dropped his arm back to his side and grinned stupidly. "Well... there's nothing to do," he said, nodding his head in answer to Matt's question. "I didn't want to sit at that stupid feast. Plus some kid told me this place is off limits to students, so I had to check it out."

Matt laughed quietly. "I know. I couldn't help but follow you." He grinned again. "I'm not hungry anyway..." He shrugged and pulled out his wand. "Well, lets go explore before anyone realizes we're missing." He looked around. "And come to find us."

"Sorry, but I don't really think anyone will know we're missing?" he said slowly, staring back at Matt. "I've only talked to two people since we got to this country. Not including the shop owners."

Alex shrugged and turned back to the empty path. Heading forward slowly, he lit the tip of his wand, allowing him to see farther ahead. It was a lot darker inside the forest, and it only got darker as they walked on. Something brushed up against his leg and he looked down. An animal that appeared to be a harmless baby fox was rubbing against him. He bent down to pick it up and noticed that it was really light, even for being a baby.

Walking on, he held the fox in his arms and patted its head a couple of times with his wand hand. He tripped over a stick that was lying in the middle of the path and the little fox instantly spat fire out of its mouth, burning his hand. Alex dropped the fox and stared at his hand. Instead of looking like he'd just been burnt, his hand looked like it was sprouting scales. He muttered a few spells before he got one that turned his hand back to normal.

"What the hell was that thing?" he yelled, turning back to look at Matt, and making sure he was still there.

"Like I'm supposed to know." Matt said coldly. "I just got here you know." He looked around. No one, nothing. He sighed. You're freaking out over nothing, Matt. Get ahold of yourself... He thought.

Shrugging, Alex turned back to path and held his wand higher. This wasn't the time to argue with Matt, espeically over something stupid. He wasn't going to say it, but he felt a lot safer in this forest with his older brother there. If Matt left, he wouldn't know what to do. All he did know was that he wouldn't be staying in here much longer after that.

"I guess I shouldn't have picked that thing up then?" he asked, randomly. He didn't expect a sensible answer, and figured that Matt would make fun of him for doing so. At least that's how it always had been back home. "Maybe I shouldn't pick anything else up while we're out here. I don't think Jinx would anything I find in here..."

( Jinx = His black cat with bright green eyes. )

"Yeah..I don't think you should." He wouldn't admit that he was scared. He looked around again. He felt somthing at his feet. He looked down and saw a snake. He shook his head and kicked it off of him. "Stupid thing..."

Grinning to himself, he had to keep from laughing. Despite the way his brother felt, Alex wasn't really all that scared. Sure, he was still a little hesitant after that stupid fox thing, but that couldn't really count towards being scared. As the continued down the path, he began to wonder why he'd come in here in the first place. The only thing he could come up with was because it was forbidden. Other than that, he had no idea what he'd find, and was getting somewhat bored with the forest. He'd much rather be up at the castle talking to people than wandering through this stupid place.

"I'm bored," he said loudly, to no one in particular. "And exhausted."

Wynter had had enough of the silence of the dormatories and common room. She walked out of the castle, suavely walking along the grounds, until she reached the Forbidden Forest. Looking around quickly, she entered the dark trees.

She expected to be alone, but she heard voices in the near distance. Walking faster towards them, she broke through the brush to see two boys standing, talking to one another. She smiled at them, unsure. 'Hi.' She said to them nervously.

What the hell was Alain doing in the forest? He didn't even remember going there. That was something that seemed to happen to him quite often, though, so he didn't really wonder or worry about it. He just assumed it was sleep walking, or even that he was so deep in thought he didn't remember anything else? Like a dream, which was pretty much sleepwalking. Now, Alain was fully aware he wasn't supposed to be there, as well as the dangers in the woods. He was also fully confident in his magical abilities. To the point where he got a little cocky about it, which had completely diminished the fear in him when he realized where he was.

The red head had just stood there for awhile, contemplating which way to go. Maybe something or someone would find him before he decided? With that decided, he plopped down onto the grass. The trees were slightly thinner here, so it must've not been too deep. Naturally Alain had a book in hand, so he opened it up, squinting his eyes a little to read the text on the pages. It wasn't too light out.

Alain looked as if he'd just decided to halfway dress on the train. He'd been alone, of course. He always sat alone. He still wore jeans, but had a loose tie aswell as the school uniform button-up shirt, topped with new black robes. He'd always loved the smell of new robes. A lot like the pages of a new book, he guessed. He bit his bottom lip, and blinked when voices that he had not noticed before caught his attention.

When they were approached by a girl, Alex smiled at her. He wondered if she were in here for the same reason as they were. Maybe she didn't like following orders just like they didn't. Then again, she could've just gotten lost or something. But of course he had to come up with the most imaginative way she had run into them.

"Hey there," he answered her. He took a few steps towards her so he was standing next to her and motioned for her to follow him and his brother.

He followed the path and turned a corner, expecting it to be clear. When he saw someone familiar, he grinned to himself. He hadn't thought he'd be seeing Alain again this soon. "Ooo Matt I changed my mind! Can I keep him?" he said, jokingly of course, but still wishing he could.

Matt laughed at his twin. "As long as he doesn't bite." He said jokingly. He grinned at his brother. "Go for it." He said finally, watching Alex smile.

Alain had gotten up so he was on all fours (What a position. <.<; ) and had crwled behind a tree. He obviously didn't recognized Alex's voice, since he was peering around the tree with his wand in hand. He was trying to look somewhat threatening, but it obviously didn't work too well for him. He looked... cute, as always. He blinked his wide eyes, and stuffed his wand back in his robe pocket. He decided it'd be better if he didn't go off shooting spells at someone he kind of actually got along with.

Alex watched, amused as Alain crouched behind a nearby tree. It didn't bother him that he had a wand pointing towards him, because if he'd been in Alain's place he would've done the same thing. He put out the light from his own wand and shoved it back inside his robes.

He took a few steps towards the tree and smiled innocently down at Alain. "I missed you," he said quietly, holding out his hand to help him up from the ground. "Need some help?"
