Crying...

[Cassie Eros]

Cassie ran in and slammed the door shut behind her, she hated him! She hated Teddy and his oblivious manner. She was supposed to be his, she had known since she was just a wee first year and here now, he had deserted her, she was alone again. Alone. Iroquoi shuddered inside her and begged to be taken out, but Cassie refused. She couldn't let Iroquoi win. She cried, she didn't want Teddy to be with someone else. She just wanted him to love her.

{hehe..I hope you don't mind me bringing Evan in here..though I might warn you..he's boring. Dreadfully so}

Having decided beforehand that he was going to dedicated his night to study of his favorite subject, Herbology, rather than attending the dance that the student body was so excited to participate in, Evan had found refuge in a small empty classroom where he had spent the last several hours. For before the dance had started, the commonroom was packed, the hallways were littered with people, and it seemed this small room was his only sancutary as he yearned to be alone.

What he had not expected as he held his rather large Herbology book in his hand was that a young girl about his age would burst into the room crying. Rather awkwardly, Evan put his book down beside him after this occurred, and heisitated on what he should do before he rose in his place and spoke.

"Are..are you ok there?" He questioned quietly, holding her distressed form with his dark emerald gaze.

Cassie looked up at the boy she had chanced running into. She looked up with her lovely blue eyes and met his emerald ones. She couldn't even force a smile for him, "No... No I'm not okay," she said, placing her face in her hands as she hid her face from him, "I just can't compete with that girl, she took the love of my life away from me," she said, tears streaming from her eyes.

She curled into a semi-ball bringing her knees up to her chest. Her dress was long and still hung neatly around her ankles. She had worn a pale blue dress, the sleeve hung around her shoulders and supported it up while the rest was bare arms and covering down to her ankles. She wore sweet blue heels that matched and her hair was down and slihgtly wavy. She looked beautfiul, except her eyes were filled with tears.

"I don't have any friends except for Teddy, and I love him so much, since first year even, but... he likes that Morgan girl, he's so oblivious and since I have no one to help me get ready I was really late for the dance and..." she broke off, talking was hurting her. Even thinking about it hurt.

Evan was not exactly one excellent at socializing with others..nor was he good at making them feel better in situtations that were as seemingly drab as this girl's, but he was an excellent listener and that seemed like a quality this fellow student needed at the moment. Evan could see that she was desolute, and he was pained to see it, as he was a sensitive boy and loathed seeing others distress even when he rarley spoke to them. This increased as she wailed the name Teddy, as he recognized it immediatly, for he had met this particular boy once in the library and had a rather high opinions of him in comparison to others.

With this in mind, Evan knew he should do something to ease this poor girl's pain, but nothing came to mind as this was certainly not his area of expertise. And so he sank down hesistantly to her level as she laid curled in a ball and realized in dread after a few moments that he really ought to say something..

"Does he know how you feel about him?" He asked quietly, not knowing whether or not she had implied this answer before or if this was a good question as he was too socially inept to judge this sort of thing.

"I ... I think he does," she said between sobs. She wiped her eyes absent-mindedly, "We've been friends for years and I've always dropped subtle hints, but he just doesn't like me like that I guess..." she said, still crying. She looked up at Evan with her pretty blue eyes, her dress top was splattered with tear drops.

"I'm Cassie Eros... by the way," she said softly. She extender her tiny delicate hand out towards the boy, he was fairly good looking, much to Cassie's delight.

As Matthew walked towards the dance he heard a sobbing from inside a room. Knowing he was someone who could nearly always sort out problems he knocked on the door.
As he walked in he saw two fellow Ravenclaws sitting in the room. A girl had tears streaming down her face and there was a boy who looked like he didn't know what to do but was trying the best he could to comfort the girl. He didn't recognise the boy but when the girl turned round he knew that it was Cassie. She looked stunning. Even with tears down her face
He didn't know her that well but they were on the quidditch team. He also had a crush on her a couple of years ago.

"Cassie, whats the matter. Who's upset you?" he said drawing out his wand

Cassie looked up at the boy, they weren't very close, they knew eachother only as acquaintences on the quidditch team, "Oh, this is Evan, he's not the one who made me cry," she said quickly, seeing him draw his wand, her eyes going wide. She quickly dried them and composed herself as necessary. "It's just that my best friend has fallen for another and I feel a bit left out," she said softly, her eyes pointing to the ground.

Matthew put his wand back away rather sharpish. He thought what a fool he made of himself by drawing his wand in the middle of the classroom. He decided to try and make the best of a bad situation.
"I'm sorry." he said to the other boy "I didn't mean to accuse you". He could feel the redness glowing on his cheek. "If you want me to go I will or do you want me try and help?"

"No you can stay if you'd like, but why aren't you at the dance with all the other people," she asked, her tears beginning to dry. She looked up at him, her hair was a bit messy but it still shimmered like golden wheat and hung down to her lower back in sweet waves. Her eyes were a sparkling blue, much like the ocean on a sunny day. Her dress was simple, yet elegant. It hung around her shoulders, leaving her neck and shoulders bare, and fit to her now well develeped form like a second skin. It billowed out more at the bottom leaving leg moving space.

"I...I...I couldn't kind of.... get a date"

That was a rather uncomfortable question for Matthew to answer. Normally he would have thought of some sarcastic comment but he couldn't think of anything to say. He didn't think about that much and he didn't really want to bring it up as 1. he didn't want to look more of a fool and 2. He thought that Cassie needed his support not he needing hers.

"Why aren't you at the dance? You look like you went to a lot of trouble to stay in here. Listen, whatever you're crying over, you're better than that. Why don't you come to the dance with me. Just for the last bit?"

Matthew tapped his wand on his head and his messy robes turned into the finest Outfit that Matthew could afford. His black shoes became shiney Armanis and his hair neatened itself up and in an instant he look 100% better. He carried on looking at Cassie and let her eyes meet his.

Cassie flushed, she didn't ever think she was better than Teddy, she couldn't even imagine. Teddy was her best friend and although this pain was crushing she still had fond feelings for him. She watched Matthew perform the spell and how much more handsome he became after it she had to swallow a gulp. She could go and have fun. "Alright, I suppose.." she said quietly. She must look awful, having no one to help her prepare and then crying her eyes out it must look horrible, her face, her dress everything!

"Well, I guess we should be off then", Matthew said. It seemed to him that the girl still felt upset but at least she looked a little bit happier. "Come on! the dance will be nearly over". Matthew started to smile and felt better than he had in ages. He offered his arm out to the girl, hoping that she'd take it and that the dance hadn't finished yet. "Oh, and you look beautiful"

"Thanks you look pretty stunning yourself," she said accepting his arm. The predicament at hand would soon resurface, however as they would be going back to where it began. She smiled a bit too hastily but continued on. She would do her best to stay poised.
