Vivianne Taylor was never a gym type of girl. She never has been and never will be. For her, gym was a waste of time. Gym was for those students who didnít really excel in class to show off in the gymnasium or for girls to stand around giggling at the sweaty boys. Disgusting people. Via just saw them as pawns that didnít know their way. If they did know then they wouldnít be wasting their time with this gym class. It was dumb, and yet, everyone had to participate. The only thing with that, half the class just stood there pretending they were doing something. It just seemed really dumb to the blonde. Why should she waste her brain cells on this? She needed to save them for when something else such as an answering a question in calculus. Unfortunately, the gym teacher disagreed with her. Todayís activity: dodge ball. A game where people liked to take their anger and stress out at people. It was a hot mess with red rubber balls. Great way to save her brain cells, wasnít it?
The game and everyone around her was moving faster than she was. Via stood there in the midst of the crowd watching the red balls fling back and forth. Body parts were getting hit, people were getting back in and out, and there the Vadoma familiar was, just standing there. She didnít want to be part of the game. She didnít want to throw the ball or catch the ball or anything. Thus, Via made a plan. She needed to get hit and be out. Once she got out there wasnít a big chance that she would get back in. Why? There were better players than she was, and the only way she would get back in was if she was the last choice when someone caught the ball and had to bring someone back. Via saw that one of the jocks on the other team had the ball and knew that getting hit would be easy if she got in the way. An easy target just like in chess. But sometimes in chess, you donít notice the other pieces around you.
Just when the jock decided to throw the ball, another ball out of nowhere hit him, causing his ball to fly up into the air. The ball was high in the air and clearly went over Viaís head. That meant that she wasnít out, and that she was still in the game. She didnít want to be the game, and yet, there she was. Again, she tried to get hit by the ball. Only this time instead of the thrower getting hit, she caught the ball. Out of nowhere, her hands reached out and caught the ball as if it was in defense. It was crazy. The blonde didnít want to be in, she wanted to be out. Was this some form of karma from the gym gods? She sighed as she looked to her right at some of her out teammates. Picking one person out of those who sat on the bench didnít seem right. Most people would pick on the strong players, but Via wasnít like that. If she ever got her pawn onto the other side of the board, she wouldnít exactly ask for another queen so fast, she would think of all her choices. Who would help most in the future? But this was dodge ball, how was chess and dodge ball alike? They were just two games. Two different games. Nevertheless, Via has to bring someone back in.
ďUm you?Ē she pointed to the guy.
