hi , i have just bought a Golf mk3 driver 1995 1.8 petrol , can anyone tell me why it starts fine in the morning when it's dry weather , but wont start in the morning when its damp or wet .

Your HT leads are perished. Replace all leads from coil to dizzy and from dizzy to spark plugs. Should solve the problem of no starting when wet.
