In a
recent statement by Christian Svensson, Sr. Director of Strategic Planning & Research, Capcom revealed their mindset involving game development for the Wii.
"We have more titles coming to Wii than what's been announced HOWEVER, I must admit, many of them (outside of RE which has a long and successful history on Nintendo platforms) are not mature titles (edit: and by that I mean M rated titles) despite the fact that's an area Capcom is known for.
By and large, I don't see the Wii being home to a sizeable mature playerbase outside of some of the early adopters. I see it as being very, very broad with a family focus. If there is a "core player base" on Wii (and it's might be so broad, there might be no such thing as "core"), within two years, it will probably be largely a younger player (or at least younger than 360 or PS3).
You'll see more announcements later this year on this front."You may remember Keiji Inafune speaking earlier about a
mystery Wii game in development in which we narrowed down the possibilities of what it can be. We can narrow things down even more now, and more and more it is looking like that mystery game is one of the Rockman franchise. Sorry guys, but in the eyes of most, Rockman games are just more "kiddy" than Onimusha.
Rockman Rockman 2, anyone?

Capcom of Japan has updated their
Rockman ZX Advent page with nothing more than a bunch of expectations to make us suffer until they are available. The front page now shows non-linked buttons for the story, protagonists, mysterious characters and the new Model A. The catch is they won't be linked to their respective contents until February 28th, March 7th, March 12th and March 16th. Let the anticipation begin!
But Capom, being the nice people they are, aren't ones to leave us out in the cold with nothing. They have added a
production blog on U-Capcom that will bring us some of the news on the development side of the game. The first post gives us a taste of what to expect giving us a general definition for the term "advent" and hyping up the Model A. We'll keep an eye out for what else might show up on the blog in the coming days.

Finally, after knowing of the production of the Rockman ZX sequel (Rockman ZX Advent) for weeks, we have finally received the first scans with information highlighting the game!

Vent and Aile will not be making a return in this game as they will be replaced by another male-female duo by the names of Grey ƒ(グレイ) and Ashe ƒ(アッシュ). They will both assume the form of initial Rockman model that is known as
Model A, but that is where most of the similarities end. Grey and Ashe seem to be very different including in terms of the storyline you will encounter for each of them.
Grey is the 14-year-old male protagonist. He is awoken from "Cold Sleep" by Pandora. He is told that his name is "Grey" and that he was a failed experiment: a defective Rockman. He fights his way out of the base, taking with him a gun from a fallen Hunter. He proclaims, "I'm not a failed creation! I am...I am a Rockman!"
Ashe is the 15 year old female protagonist. She is a ruin artifact hunter working for "Legions", the government organization that oversees and controls all of the world's affairs. She is on a mission to recover the stolen Model A Live metal from an illegal Hunter who has stolen it. She runs into Prometheus on the mission, only to discover his target is the same as hers - the Live Metal Model A. In a heart-felt event she asks, "How can you decide that?! This is my life. My story!"
Actions available to Grey/Ashe- Crouching/Crawling: Same as Vent and Aile in the first Rockman ZX game.
- Buster Shot: That's right! Grey and Ashe can attack with their buster guns in their human form!
Actions granted by Live Metal Model A- Wall jumping: Leap up and scale steep walls
- Dash Jump: Soar over a great distance by adding a dash before leaping.
- Charged Shot: Increase the firepower of your buster!
- Homing Shot: Activate Lock On mode and any enemy within your field of range will be attacked a by a series of Charged shots!
- A mysterious ability: Rockman Model A can assume the form of fallen enemy Repliroids?
We have confirmation that Rockman ZX Advent will be released sometime during the 2007 year. I would speculate that this would mean an early Q3 release in July, the same time Rockman ZX was released last year. Not much more is known at this time. We will bring you anything more we uncover once we do.
