much like the seasons, things fade with age. whether it be relationships, hair dye, animals, leaves, whatever the case, everything eventually faded and went away. the good thing about this, was it is a cycle. once winter has gone and spring has returned; much the same, relationships can be rekindled and leaves bud and sprout. over the past months addison's other relationships had been stowed on the backburner, slowly fading. it was damaging, not only to herself, but surely to them, too. currently she needed those friends that she had tossed away so carelessly for the drama. ashley, gabe, minnie, everyone she ever knew; her former support system. now, addie wasn't exactly sure she was ready to forgive and make up with ashley just yet, or even call up miss minnie seeing as addie had heard some things about her too, but, gabe... gabe was doable. surely he wouldn't be mad right? and even if he was, he couldn't possibly stay mad at her forever, could he? in all the time she had known the curly haired skater boy, addie had never known him to complete freak-out. even when she first started dating logan, he hadn't completely exploded. it was just a little one. but, things changed and so do people. maybe gabe had completely lost it and was a coke snorting, binge drinking, anorexic freak who collected stuffed parrots. as entertaining as that would be, there was no way that gabe sullivan could be a coke snorting, binge drinking, anorexic freak who collected stuffed parrots. there was no way. hoping to prove herself right on this one, addie had made it her duty to go find him. she hadn't been to his house in so long that she was actually kind of nervous. what if he didn't recognize her or didn't want to see her? what if he wasn't home and one of his brothers answered the door - addie didn't really know them, but, it would still be strange talking to them right? nonetheless, as usual, she hoped on her bicycle with a certain 'i'm sorry' gift and pedalled off to gabe's house. for the moment that she stood at his door after hesitantly tapping, addie began contemplating to herself. " hey gabe. remember me? can we chill?" oh gross. that was the worst greeting ever. even she knew it. " gaaaabe. i'm sorry i'm such a failure and ignored you, but, really, you can't tell me you wouldn't have done the same if you started dating someone like dylan who is like my 'worst enemy' or whatever and you wanted to avoid drama and torture." that was better... still, not right, though. swallowing, she put on a sincere, 'i'm sorry, can we talk' smile and gently bounced on the balls of her feet, waiting...waiting...

things in gabe's life were... alright. he was completely in love with ashley calvert, but everything else around him seemed to be falling apart. he had heard his brother was back in town, yet he hadn't spoken to him in month. what the fuck was that about? had zach forgotten he had a brother? it wasn't fair. gabriel was also really creeped out by the fact that his so-called brother had hooked up with his ex girlfriend. he knew he had no reason to be mad, other than the fact that it was disturbing, but he couldn't let go of it. thankfully, he had ashley to rely on, and she was keeping him sane. today though, he was alone in the house, yet again. his parents were out shopping, and he was trying to get through some calculus homework that was making his brain explode. why did he even have to take this class? it's not like he was planning on becoming a mathematician. to be honest, gabriel wanted to write. music, preferably. and you didn't know need to know about square roots, or percentages when you were writing a song. still, there he was, punching numbers through his calculator, falling asleep with every minute that passed. it's like he could feel his brain slowly shutting off with every number he read, with every answer he scribbled down in his boyish handwriting. gabriel thought about calling ashley, just to give himself an excuse not to finish his homework. but then, she might be doing hers, and he didn't want to bother her. he scrolled down his contact list, sighing. he didn't know who else to call. it's not like he had that many friends. sure, he had a lot of phone numbers, but half of those were girls who hated him, and the other half were acquaintances. and the few friends he could count on? they were all busy. or hooking up with his brother. so he put the phone done, trying to focus once again. when a knock on the door was heard, he grinned, relieved to have a reason to close his math book once and for all. he walked over to the door, wondering who it was. when he opened it and saw addie, he grinned, pulling her into a hug. "addie!" he said, chuckling softly, since he hadn't seen her in what seemed to be forever. "oh my god, how are you? i haven't your pretty face around here in a while." he admitted, smirking lightly as he let her go, leading her in the house. thank you sandra for the manip<3

well this was surprising. addison honestly hadn't expected gabe to be so receptive and warm to her sudden arrival. she had expected him to shut the door in her face the second he saw it was her. sure, they had been really close before, but, lately addie had been a terrible friend. she had basically cut the curly-haired sweetheart out of her life. why? why would someone cut someone like him from their life? because that said person was an idiot obviously; that person hadn't realized at the time what kind of boy she was getting involved with. when she was dating logan, addie had known about the hate between the boys. basically she had picked the jerk over the guy who was always there for her. she had pushed the one person she could count on to be there always away and all for one stupid guy that she pretty much hated. why did she have to get such a clouded mind? it wasn't fair. it was then, wrapped up in a hug from the boy she loved like a brother, that she realized she wanted her old life back. as dull as it had been, it had been far simpler. she had lost her way, and now she wanted back. step one was getting gabrial back - and so far that seemed to be working. "i've been getting this pretty face all wrapped up in trouble," she said softly, blushing slightly at his 'pretty face' comment, stepping back and nervously nibbling on her bottom lip. it was perhaps the worst habit she had. she didn't even know why she was so nervous. gabe was obviously not that mad at her. addie followed him into the familiar sullivan house. gosh, she really did miss this place. it was so homey and welcoming. "but...that's kind of why i came over here?" she had to get it out there. the apology that is. taking a deep breath, addie reached for gabe's arm to stop him and pull him back. "i'm so unbelievably sorry for my fail friendness gabe. i never ever meant to blow you off but i did and i feel terrible and i miss you and can you forgive me so we can be friends that actually talk again?" once she started, it just all spilt out. she looked up at him hoping, praying that he would accept it so they could just move on from this awkward stage. she wanted that so, so bad.

gabriel had no clue what addie had been through in the past few months. they hadn't spoken much. but now that she was here, he was planning on being a good friend and asking her how she was doing. he had heard through a few people that she had broken up with logan, aka the bolton failure, but he hadn't talked to her about it. it seemed like an awkward conversation to have. also, gabriel had kind of been sucked into 'i love ashley' land for the past few weeks, so he wasn't exactly talking to anyone but his girlfriend. maybe he was a little bit crazy, but that's what he did when he was in love. he wasn't tired of seeing ashley every day yet. "now that's impossible. you? trouble? i doubt it." he joked, as they both walked in his house. he gasped softly she pulled him back, taking a moment to finally listen to her. it all felt so urgent, gabriel wondered if something was wrong. but when she finally told him, he smiled. how could she think he wouldn't want to talk to her again? addie was one of his best friends. it was different than the friendship he had with rayne for example. they had never dated. they were just two very good friends. "addie, addie, relax." he said, chuckling softly as he grabbed her the arms, trying to get her attention. "you're not a fail friend. look, i get it... you got caught up in something. it happens." he told her, shrugging. even if it had hurt to see her become a stranger in his life, gabriel wasn't going to hold a grudge. he loved her too much to do that. "do you want something to drink? we can talk some more if you want." he said, going into the kitchen to get her a glass of juice or soda. "so what's going on? i heard you broke up with logan." he said softly, giving her a sympathic look. although he didn't approve of bolton, he knew how hard a break up could be. thank you sandra for the manip<3
