This is more about deterring wildlife than attracting but seemed the best place to post.
We are plagued by grey squirrels and I am looking for ideas to keep them off our feeders.
We have suspended squirrel proof nut feeders which work quite well but our seed feeders hang from a standard feeder pole and they just climb it and help them selves. I have tried greasing the pole which works for a day or so and is quite amusing but once the grease dries they empty the feeder very quickly. Chilli powder mixed with the seed is supposed to work, apparently it doesnt bother the birds, has anyone tried it?
Was thinking of using a catapult as a deterrent but we are not there all the time so not much of a deterrent really.
Any ideas anyone?
