Getting Started

[**Kilo**]

Joshua sat down on the beach, his beauitful blue eyes stairing out at the blue ocean. What was he doing out here alone? Well, he had no one better to talk to, no one to hang out with, so he'd just have to deal with stairing out at the beautiful water, the only way they could possibly get home.
He took a deep breathe, brushing a strand of blonde hair from his eyes as he did so, this island seemed so quite, so empty. And yet, there were almost 20 teenagers on it. How could it be?

[Andi]

Melanie walked down the beach looking for something to do. She hated the island and most of the people on it. There was no one to wait on her and follow her every command. She looked over and saw Josh sitting near the water. Hey.. he's kind of cute. Haven't dated him yet right? Melanie shrugged and hopped over. "Hey Josh, having fun?"

[**Kilo**]

Josh looked up at this girl, trying to remember her name... oh wait, that was one of Ariella's friends right? Melanie? "Not really, this place blows." He said simply before looking back out at the ocean. Yeah, this was just a little odd.

[Andi]

"Agreed. I want to go home so badly. I miss being.. rich, I guess you could say. Out here it doesn't matter who you are. You're screwed anyway." Melanie shrugged. She sat down a few feet away on top of a rock.

[**Kilo**]

Josh nodded his head, though in reality he had no clue what it was like to be rich, the closest he had come was to staying over at Ari's house. He was the little farm boy, nothing awesome about that. "Yeah, being out here sure makes you realize things though. I mean, we could be dead right now."

[Andi]

"Yeah, we could. Sometimes I'd rather be dead than stuck out here though. It's horrid. The only good thing is that it's on the beach. I love watching the waves crash, it's soothing." Melanie sighed.

[**Kilo**]

"True. It just seems like death is way to close right now." Josh admitted, turning his head so he could look at the girl. Eh. "Yeah, beaches are awesome, you didn't have many of them back in my hometown."

[Andi]

"Really? Where did you grow up? I've always lived right near the beach. My dad owns a house on the beach back home.." Melanie smiled. "I stayed there on the weekends usually. My parents never cared where I was.."

[**Kilo**]

"I was born in North Carolina, pretty much grew up in Mississippi, and just moved to Cali two years ago." Josh explained, grinning a bit as he spoke.

[Andi]

"Really? I've never been there. Is it really cold? I've always lived in California.. So, it's never been too cold." Melanie shrugged. "I don't like the cold much anyways."

[**Kilo**]

"Nah, not really cold, the only place it ever got cold was the winter in the NC mountains. I mean, its the south, mostly hot." Josh said, before standing up and walking over to where she was perched on a rock. "So..."

[Andi]

"I've never been to the mountains. I heard they're really beautiful though. I'd love to go visit there one day. Did you live close to them?" Melanie asked, genuinely interested. Nature was surprisingly one thing she loved to talk about.

[**Kilo**]

Josh nodded his head, "Yeah, when we lived in North Carolina, I lived in the Mountains, up there near Boone." He said smiling as he spoke, "I miss it out there."

[Andi]

"A lot different from California isn't it? Why'd you move there? California's beaches are pretty and all, but I bet the mountains are so much more gorgeous. especially if it snows. I love to draw nature scenes. The mountains would be really cool to draw." Melanie smiled. "It gets dull drawing beaches after a while."

[**Kilo**]

"When my parents died, I had to come up here and live with my aunt, she's the closest family I have right now." He said simply before smirking, "Mm, it is beautiful out there, maybe I'll take you sometime and then you can draw the mountains."
