Buffy's revival and the instability caused by it has allowed the First to begin tipping the balance between good and evil. It has started hunting down and killing all of the inactive Potential Slayers, and raising an army of ancient, powerful Turok-Han vampires. It is also gathering minions.

After the Watchers' Council was destroyed, Giles arrived with a number of the Potential Slayers, and an increasing number of Potentials are taking refuge in Sunnydale.

The heroes of Sunnydale are calling in the troops.

When they arrive, the battle for THE HELLMOUTH is on.
