, the plot

Following the dramatic success of the enterprise and her cadet-crew in the
defeat of Nero and the ultimate security of earth, the ship is to begin its five
year mission into the unknown, gathering data and experience with special
phenomena and alien cultures for the betterment of humanity, paving the way
for the colonists and ambassadors behind her. The Federation is still building
it’s bridges with the inhabitants of the galaxy and it’s up to fledgling crews to
establish new alliances and economic advantages. Follow the story of the
Enterprise. This is not your father’s trek, this is another life.

If you’ve seen The Original Series, you know all about the five mission. This RP
intends to replicate that, if a little differently. The Enterprise is expected to
forge new relationships with unknown aliens in uncharted territories. Expect
exploration, some gunplay, landing parties, shuttles into spacial phenomena,
and diplomacy with the natives. This isn’t all about shooting the bad guys out of
the sky; this RP intends to pay tribute to Roddenberry’s initial dream of
coexistence and equality (with the odd shooting bad guys out of the sky). Of
course, the story is to be updated. The ‘60s interpretation of futuristic is
considerably different to today. The missions on offer will be episodic in nature,
with a main plot that involves the entire crew (such as providing aid to a colony
or researching strange nebulae) and subplots more character-orientated which
are expected to continue into the next few missions. Being different from a one-
story arc, it will require posts to be in on time so missions can be wrapped up
quickly to move onto the next chapter. Bear in mind where the story is when
you’re plotting the smaller subplots as it’s easy to find yourself still RPing your
own stories as the main plot is winding down. In light of this, characters are
restricted to one plot RP and three personal RPs at a time. Once these RPs are
completed, they are free to move onto another.

You can checking back here to see the development of the current plot and also
the information bar to the left provides an overview of the current mission. If
you have a particular idea for a main plot, then by all means PM the admin with
it and we'll use it in a future 'episode'. We admins aren't creative enough to
develop a whole series' worth of plots without help!

Admins will provide story-driven NPCs, however there is the option of creating
a secondary character with the application. These are characters that aren’t
intended as rigourous main characters we all have. Perfect for creating mission-
specific characters and redshirts who are more expendable than the canons or
primary OCs. It is recommended that RPers actively use this system
depending on the mission as admins can’t play everybody, and it gets awkward
when admins are RPing essentially against themselves.

PLOT 1:
THE FINAL FRONTIER
user posted image

This begins the journey with the Enterprise docked and undergoing final
preparations for launch. The crew is still technically on shoreleave but they’re
assigned to Spacedock, in readiness for departure. Since there isn't much to
this storyline, it will emphasise introductions and development of personal
plotlines. Mission will end when the Enterprise enters warp.

Requirements:
    - Scotty is busy with his engineering team.
    - Kirk is meeting his new officers.
    - Kirk has meetings with Commodore Becker.
    - McCoy is giving shots for the crew.
Suggestions:
    - You’re on shoreleave so anything goes.
    - Have family visit to see you off.
    - Get into some trouble.
    - Go to the bar. etc.
Secondary Characters:
    - Commodore Becker // commander of Spacedock // worships Kirk.
