[first name] [middle name] Smith -- junior - Hayden Panettiere
Cheerleaders, people love to hate them, or just love them. It really depends on the girl, usually. For Belle Smith it’s a love/love thing with most. Sure, she is blonde, attractive, and a cheerleader so she fits the ditzy association of being a cheerleader, but she is far from ditzy or stupid. She is smart and excels in her academics as well. She is a gifted girl. A gifted girl with a troubled past. Her mother died when she was only two, and soon thereafter she lost her father to alcohol. She grew up taking care of herself and her father as he battled the loss of his wife with the help of beers and stronger drinks.

Feeling like this could only mean
    I'm sinking
Feeling like this could only mean
    I'm sinking
    Well I'm sinking...pull me out

Every time I see your clothes scattered out on the floor
I say I thought you would be home
You said you never would be Gone
Everytime I see the light not burning on the porch
I say I thought you would be home
You said you never would be gone
    But you are, you are

Belle has had to put on a show at school just to make her friends think she’s as happy at home as she seems to be in school, and she is always successful at it, but as all things, something has to hit the fan. To Belle’s surprise, she finds it empty one afternoon, and not just empty of her father, but empty of all of his possessions. She cannot believe that he would just abandon her after all his promises of not leaving her after her mother’s death, but in the end there it was.

Feeling overwhelmed, I take a dive
Into a once over filled but now empty place to hide
The day you turned on me is the day I died
And I've forgotten what it's like
And how it feels to be alive

Every time I see your clothes scattered out on the floor
I say I thought you would be home
You said you never would be Gone
Everytime I see the light not burning on the porch
I say I thought you would be home
You said you never would be Gone

Dealing with the loss of her father now, she is pushed to find her true friends for only they can keep her secret from the horrors that is high school. She is pushed harder than ever to continue with the façade, because without it, she isn’t herself. Without it, she doesn’t exist.

I reach up to the sky
When nothing seems to go right
When nothing seems to go right for me

Every time I see your clothes scattered out on the floor
I say I thought you would be home
You said you never would be Gone
Everytime I see the light not burning on the porch
I say I thought you would be home
    You never would be Gone
I thought you would be home
You said you never would be Gone
    But you are
