Sit tight and just go through them, please and thank you.

To our guests:

You shall only be able to gaze upon our glorious rules and certain other forums. Considering that our site is Rated R and will have some instances that are unsuitable for younger audiences, it is clearly a way to protect ourselves from trouble we do not need or want.

Upon registering, you will be able to see more of the site, but only able to post in certain areas. Mainly, the registration area, and you will be known as "the applicants" until either sent to the age group you have applied for or into our "expelled" list.

To our registered guests:

When you register, use the first and last name of your character. No middle names (that just gets too long), and no netspeak names.

Good example -- John Doe. Bad example -- iharttttbrad003. Bad example two -- Jonathon Alexander Doe.

As a general rule, you'll have a week (seven days) from the time you register to post your application, unless an admin is contacted.

When you do post your application, please make the topic title your full name LAST, FIRST MIDDLE. Middle isn't necessary, but its nice.

When it comes to your application remember there is nothing unknown. Even if your character doesn't know his/her parents it doesn't mean you don't

If you want to create twins, you must PM an admin first before creating them.

To our posters:

Please, do not post until you have been accepted by an admin. Frankly, its just rude.

We expect you to be literate when role-playing. Spelling errors are okay, because let's face it, this language is extremely difficult to remember all the rules to. A quick check would do the trick, really.

As far as length goes, we're going for a good paragraph or two per message. So four or five sentences. Its really not much to ask, we're just trying to avoid any one-liners. Remember, the others need something to reply to. If you're stuck, describe his/her clothing, what they did earlier, how they're feeling, the surroundings, the weather, anything.

God-modding! It is accepted to a certain degree. Let me repeat -- a certain degree. I know it happens, slipping up or something, but do not make it a habit. Extremities are not tolerated at all. For example, "John backhanded Julie. She fell to the ground (blahblahblah). And ... then she died."

Respecting others:

Its a universally courteous thing that is required, here at Stoneville High.

Do not pick fights with fellow members/admins on-site. Do not attack them off-site over something that happened on-site.

Remember, these are characters, as in they are fictional. Anything that happens here is make-believe and should never be meant to harm a fellow writer. If your character's boyfriend breaks up with him/her for another, don't throw a fit and claim that the other writer hates you.

Its called drama, made for an interesting past time. That's it. Move on.

Making/Asking for Avatars and Signatures:

One of your first stops after you are accepted should be the Avatar Claim (located here), where we can keep track of who's portrayed by who. We don't want two non-related girls claiming Mischa Barton.

They need to be real people. No anime or cartoons will be accepted. Actors, actresses, singers, directors, models, are all perfect, but PLEASE have their names as this helps us identify your character easier. MySpacers, etc are NOT allowed, I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience but they won't be accepted here. Your avatar and signature should embody this person.

Avatars are restricted to dimensions 100x100.

Signatures are a bit different. We've allowed 1000 characters. The dimensions are restricted to 550x300. Only one banner, please. As for icons, two rows seem to be sufficient. You can, however, mix them up. We just don't want a page-long signature. We must be kind to dial-up, remember. ;]

Graphic Issues:

Violence and Death -- We all love drama, right? That's why we're here. Violence is accepted (not to the extent of killing, though), but death? Not so much. Do not just kill your character off for the hell of it. Deaths must be approved by an administrator, and then it will only be when it is embedded inside a storyline. In other words, we will okay it if it is a means to an end. Besides, we have our own method of killing on this site ...

Sex and Pregnancy -- Sex happens. So, if it does happen, please display a full-fledged warning, especially if you're going into detail. Pregnancies are also accepted, but we don't want a baby boom. Again, like death, it needs to be within a storyline. The general rule will be 100 posts before you can become pregnant, remember the key phrase ['be careful what you wish for'], and not just so that you'll have a storyline. An exception, of course, would be that it was written into the character's history.

Swearing -- accepted. But, these are spoiled debut antes, socialites and entertainers, not sailors. Keep it down. I know people cuss, but I don't know many who use one every other word.

Sub-Plots:

The avatars listed in the sub-plots cannot be changed. Unless you contact the character(s) they are involved with and ask them if you can change the avatar. If you need to you can contact an admin asking about the avatar you are more than welcomed to. But we cannot guarantee the avatar will be changed.

Original Characters:

You can create original characters, if you don't find any of the sub plots to your liking. Same rules apply for reserving an avatar for your character.

Activity Check Point:

We expect, from the moment your application is accepted, that you will be active. There is an absence thread to announce any down-time on your part (which we appreciate greatly). If you just can't deal with it anymore (which we do understand), just PM an admin, telling us and whether we can canon-ize your character and move on with your life, or simply post it in the "leaving" thread.

Our general rule is -- three weeks of unannounced down-time, and you will be deleted or canon-ized.

And the most important of them all!

Just have fun. Honestly, that's what we're all here for, right? Use that wonderful right hemisphere of your brain, and create some amazing drama!

Thanks, in advance. See you around the board.
