I decided to make some enquiries today into vets in my locality that specialise in reptiles just in case i ever need one. I hope i never do!!!

It wasn't an easy task, so it got me thinking how stressful it would be to be phoning round looking for a vet when your reptile was ill.

So, i thought i would start a topic to pool surgeries names, telephone numbers and the area that they are in so that anyone who finds themselves in a panic about a poorly pet they could look here first...

So here goes my ones....

Southampton, Hampshire, UK: Christopher Carter (023 8077 9388)

Andover, Hampshire, UK: Strathmore Veterinary Clinic (01264 352323)

Please add more, its for the little ones... snake1.gif turtle.gif lizard.gif chameleon.gif

i know there is one in Cumbernauld who also practices in Falkirk. As i am new to this game i don't know how good he is but maybe AJ or Pete have had experience with him.

Alright what I'm going to do is make a pinned closed topic with a list of Herpe. Vets that members have either had experience with or are on that website that Lil has linked. I'd rather not list and in a sense put a stamp of approval on practices that haven't been "visited". We have to remember that people generally sign up for a forum of this nature when they have a problem so having a list of vets that turn out to be, well to put it bluntly, crap isn't good for anyone involved.

The Lawrie practise that jimmy has posted about specialize in reptiles and have only had good reports back on them from people i have sent there in the past. I yous them for the pet shop as do many shops in my area so me thinks it's worth a mention
