Thanks to the lessons from my friend Kim, and the patience of Merlin, her cob, my riding lessons are coming on a treat. I'm only allowed to take it slowly still, working on fine control, confidence and balance, but last Tuesday we went out for a hack instead of schooling! These pictures are from a lesson a couple of weeks ago, I can't ride and take pictures yet

its a great time of year, life blooming everywhere, the nothern hemisphere coming to life after the winter chills. the newborn horses look so cute and vunerable, unsteady on their new legs. hope you get back to riding your horses soon Lil.

Bad news, a foal still-born yesterday. The mare has been checked by the vet, she's fine and was taking no interest in the foal's body at all. The vet couldn't find any obvious reason, but the foal hadn't drawn breath at all so probably died during delivery.
