Any updated or newly added rules will be in
green.
Members If a member disagrees with admin and moderator decisions or the general state of the board, then he or she can do that through the PM system. Send a message to an admin and we will respond.
Please don't backdate Leave of Absence posts, when time becomes tight, post a notice immediately, don't wait a week. If you absolutely have to backdate, make sure you have a viable reason to.
What you choose to reveal on this site is your own responsibility. It is in your best interest to refrain from giving out personal details and information.
Members must show each other respect. You may not harass or threaten other members. Disrespectful behaviour, such as derogatory comments containing racism, homophobia, or foul language will not be allowed.
Members are not allowed to post inappropriate content such as porn, cracks or other illegal content. Spamming is also not allowed (irrelevant or redundant posting) as well as inappropriate advertising. Links will be removed upon discovery and members will recieve a warning.
Characters Members may not control other characters that arent their own. The exception of this rule is if you have been granted permission by the owner of the character to control them.
NPC characters created by members may be controlled by anyone in the thread, but keep in mind that the NPC must be in character.
Your registered name has to be that of your character. This means a first and last name with proper capitalisation. Members who dont keep this in mind will have to go to a staffer and get the name changed.
Note that some species do have no last names, the general rule here is that if no members of that species have last names your character may have a single name (Example: Wookiees), but if any one member of the species has a first and last name and they have not been raised apart from their species, the rest of the species has a first and last name.
As far as Played By's go, a celebrity or another type of image that shows the proper proportions of whatever it is supposed to represent is perfectly fine to use, this means that images from anime/manga and disproportionate images cannot be used.
It is expected that every member has an inventory code in their signature.
(Keyword 1: Feche) The inventory code can be found in the
Information board.
One main character allowed per account and three NPCs.
Character Creation Follow the Character Template to the letter. You can't avoid anything on it. Add to it if you want, but you have to have the complete thing filled out. Do not edit the coding or add coding, leave it as it is.
To create a character in the Force User factions you have to have been an active member for at least one month and within that month had no inactive characters.
Read the
Requirements and follow the guidelines there.
Your profile must be accepted before you start role playing. Any requests made by an admin to your Character Application should be followed.
Don't make another character if you either don't have the time (and you've told us in the
Leave of Absence forum), haven't been RPing with your old ones or have over three.
There is officially a character limit of three on Sithspawn. You may only have more than three if the staffers have faith in you that you can handle them. The criterion is usually no recent LoAs and no lack of activity of any character.
Remember to make sure the timeline checks out with the events in your characters history and your characters age. You can find the Timeline thread
here.
Posting Do not under any circumstance delete your own posts unless you have just reason. Just reasoning is posting out of turn or posting with the wrong account. Other exceptions may be made by staff decision. If a member is found deleting posts with no acceptable reasoning they will be warned or banned depending on how many warnings they have received previously.
In order to remain an active member you will have to post IC once a week. Those who have posted a Leave of Absence notice are freed from this duty. It is possible to leave one character on the backburner for a time. If said character is a member of a capped faction, then this rule wont be noted.
If you intend for a thread to be for yourself only, put either locked or closed in the sub-title. This will tell others that this thread is private.
If you want to be in a thread with only certain people, then put closed - ... or locked - ... and place the names of the people you wish to allow into the thread in your sub-title.
A topic without any indication that they're locked is on default considered open, but one must ask permission from the involved parties before an individual can join a thread.
When changing locations from one planet to another you are required to start a new thread.
When in a thread, follow the set order of posting.
(Keyword 2: la) If you have waited a week for a response you may skip the person holding the thread up.
Grammar and spelling is important. The odd spelling mistake here and there is acceptable and causes no harm, but constant spelling mistakes and bad grammar are not acceptable.
It is permitted to be in more than one thread at a time, but you may only undergo two missions simultaneously.
Missions are required to contain
Did Is in most if not every post.
When you're IC, use third person not first person.
Label all out of character comments in story threads clearly. For example double brackets (( )), or a simple OOC: tag.
It is fully possible to reserve a posting spot in a large thread with no set posting order, but you have to be quick to post, and only reserve
if you're in the process of writing up your post! The maximum time a post can be reserved for is 24 hours.
Death If you were a force-sensitive you can return as a force spirit for up to 250 posts.
You may also purchase a clone in the Marketplace if you can afford it.
Inactivity If you fall inactive without posting in the Leave of Absence forum your character will be moved to the inactive bin. After a second time falling inactive there is a chance you may not be able to retrieve it.
Plots and Plotting Any feedback concerning the main plot is welcome, but the staff have the final say in what major turns the plot will take, as we have to engage all members in it, not simply a few.
If you have a plot idea for your character, go ahead with it! It may be wise to pop by the
plotting forum if you need other participants or if you want feedback on it.
Personal plots are very welcome here. At the moment most of the posting is centred on the smaller character specific plots rather than the large one that concerns most of the major factions.
If you come up with a plot that is very involved in the board plot, the staff would prefer if you pitch it to us first. There are some plans as to where things are going to go; we would prefer to avoid any clashes as far as member plots and the main plot go.
Prison Should you break a law on a planet, or annoy a planetary official, you will be placed on a Wanted list.
(Keyword 3: vache!) Anyone can capture you, bringing you in to whoever wants you and receiving the award placed on your criminal scum head.
