It was a time of chaos ...
Inspired by a unique revolution of Coruscant, central system in the Galaxy, the surrounding planets quickly fell into a period of dismay and disruption. Tired of inadequate governments, the people rose up against them, and many planets suffered. Horrendous civil wars. Terrible city fights. Revolutionists and Conservationists fought battles on planetary scales, waging a vast war through the Core and Inner regions.
... a time of deception ...
During this time, a single leader rose up and took command of Coruscant, in the midst of it's planetary civil war. With an iron and brutal fist he held the central system together, and was held in high regard for his ability to finally make peace across the planet. But his love of the people came only from the illusion of democracy. In truth, it was little more than a dictatorship. Corruption and greed won countless Senate votes.
... a time of conquest ...
Though Coruscant held a peaceful atmosphere, the ruler began sending numerous troops to neighbouring worlds, right to the Mid Rim. Forced into his control, planets fell in the dozen, and his campaigns were successful on all fronts. Every planet of importance was seized, and his prowess, military and political, seemed unstoppable.
... it became an era of opposition ...
That was before Corellia and Dolomar entered the fray. The armies of Coruscant found themselves sorely pressed against the elite armies of Corellia, and the skillful pilots of the planet found it easy to navigate the nearby asteroid fields, something Coruscant's navy could not. On Dolomar, the planet's harsh climate forced the invaders to rethink their tactics, but continually found themselves pushed back by the planet's owners, who were used to the treacherous weather conditions.
... an era of freedom ...
Coruscant's dictator found himself beaten on numerous fronts all at once, while the one field he had failed to carefully watch finally made a stand. Back on Coruscant, the people saw through the lies and deception at last, leading a revolution against those who held them in check. Aided by the external forces of Dolomar and Corellia, the dictatorship of Coruscant was overthrown at last.
... an era of progress ...
With the system of Coruscant free once more, the Galaxy experienced something that later came to be called the "Era of Revolutions" or the "Revolutionary Era". Dolomar and Corellia allied in order to try and maintain a state of peace throughout the Galaxy for several centuries. Many people profited from the economy boom that blasted it's way into the Galaxy, and once more people took up jobs such as politicians, explorers, scientists and authors. People found themselves able to visit places previously unheard of or inaccessible, and the people loved the governments for it.
... and before long, a time of repetition ...
That changed. Dolomar, seemingly outshone by Corellia in the economic field and hoping for a chance to shine by itself, launched a dangerous and treacherous assault on the planet. The resulting war was on a scale never before even thought of, beating other Galactic wars such as the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War in scale. Both super-powers found themselves locked in a seemingly endless conflict, with neither side able to gain the upper-hand. That was until eventually - Corellia fell.
One by one the military leaders of Corellia either vanished or perished, hunted and murdered by those they had once allied with. Those who remained loyal to Corellia and it's people were 'corrected', and those that managed to flee vanished for periods of time, seemingly scared of showing themselves. Dolomar took complete control.
... then, a time of rebellion.
Eventually a rebellion formed from the shattered remnants of the righteous in the galaxy. The cells of the rebellion spread thin across the galaxy. Unorganized, but with hope in their hearts, the freedom fighters have little means of communicating without getting discovered. Using covert methods and infiltrating the governments, they survive, but barely.
