Hey, want me to write up parts for the music we've already got so we have something to play for St. Pat's Day? Or is one of the other guys (I've got to learn names!) interested in writing book?
I can put up PDFs with snare, tenor, and a single/multiple bass part, so we're prepared for three to five drummers. Those can go in the files section on the Yahoo! group. Going forward, how are we going to handle writing book? I can see options: --Divvy up songs between us; --Everybody scores a song and we vote on which to use; --We each score it and the pull the best sections together; --Collaborate on it from the outset, as whole group or in pairs/teams. I kinda like the idea of pair/team collaboration from the outset, as a general practice. I'll be scoring for horns, too, and will have an idea of percussion parts when doing that, though those will certainly be open to rewriting. |
