I have sent 100 Prairie Sound Flyers to the Olathe Public School through two different Band Directors.

Anybody got a line on a listing of all the high schools and colleges in the metro area?

Also, any online portals or the like listing all the music shops in the area?

Yeah, I know I'm likely dreaming that such is available online. It's such a nice dream, though....

If any one knows of a Band Director who would be supportive of Drum & Bugle Corps go ahead and approach him/her and try to set up a time to talk to the students. I can loan you a couple bugles for show and tell. rolleyes.gif

Well, it's been so long since I've played brass, I don't think my bugle playing would excite anybody.... laugh.gif

Although it probably is a good idea for me to pick up a new mouthpiece and begin building some horn chops again. What size mouthpiece you recommend for a mello or soprano? Baritone? (Sorry, I remember nearly passing out when learning to play tuba [and flute!], so I'm not looking at picking up a contra!)

Anyway, I'm thinking of creating info packets in the style of direct marketing letters for recruiting. One set aimed at directors, one at students, and then one at former bandies. It's just easier to get the packets into the hands of directors by sending them to the schools.

That's why I'm asking about what direction and style we're gonna pursue. That's essential for writing the copy and building interest. Gotta know exactly what I'm selling to sell it well.... tongue.gif

Actually, I have a listing of all of the high schools in the state of Kansas, with the band directors names, contact emails, etc. If you guys would like it, just email me at dborden1@cox.net. I originally made it for the Drums Across Kansas show, then updated it for the use of both the Silver Sabres and the new indoor brass program we are starting in Wichita.
