I'll tell you upfront--there are no hidden messages in these rules. But please do me a favor and read them. I'll know if you don't, and then you'll be in trouble because you are responsible for knowing this material.

BASIC RULES

1. Respect your fellow RPers. It's not too hard to do. If you have a problem with someone, please PM me or another staff member. If it's a staff member you're having issues with, let me know. And if for some reason you have a problem with me, PM me. Don't sit around and sweat it out.
2. Have fun. It's sad that I need to remind people, but this is a game. Don't give yourself an ulcer over a game.
3. No posting any porn, hentai, or spam anywhere on these boards. The first two will get you an immediate ban, and the third will get you a warning. If you do both, then you will be banned double. For twice infinity, whatever that is.

POSTING RULES

1. Please use proper grammar and spelling. Use Microsoft Word to check your spelling and common sense to check your grammar. If you need help with the grammar (because heaven knows I, too, have problems with spelling), let me know because I love grammar.
2. Don't post in horrendously tiny fonts. Try to keep the font size the same as the default.
3. If you want to post in another color, go ahead. But this font seems to fit well with the skin, so don't feel like you have to change colors. Also be aware that I--or another person--may ask you to change the color if it's impossible to read or hard on the eyes.
4. There really is no word minimum here, but you can't really do anything with a one-liner. This skin isn't too wide, so making a couple of lines minimum shouldn't be too hard. Just keep in mind that not only do you want to move the plot along, but you want to write well, too.
5. To people who think that ten paragraphs is automatically good writing: it's not. I would rather see two well-written paragraphs than a novel of crap. ;]

IN-CHARACTER RULES

1. You don't have to be nice to others' characters, but remember that member /= character.
2. You are more than welcome to *tag* a character in a thread, but try to open up and RP with a whole diversity of people rather than the same three.
3. Don't go on a swearing-frenzy.
4. Fade to black. If you want to write out sex scenes, I can't control what you do over AIM, MSN or e-mail.

SIG / AVATAR RULES

1. Avatars are not to exceed 150 x 150 pixels.
2. Signatures shouldn't stretch the page.
3. Model Claims: You do not have to use a model or a celebrity. I understand that sometimes you can't represent your character with a celebrity. But if you want to, feel free to claim a model. Just remember to put it in the claiming thread or someone else can claim it.

NPC RULES
An NPC is a non-player character. They act as a side-kick sort of to your main character.

1. You are allowed one NPC per character.
2. Your NPC can only be children under three and dogs.
3. Older children need a separate account.
4. If you plan on acquiring an NPC, PM me.

UPDATE 10/16/07: If you should receive any suspicious PMs containing material including, but not limited to, queries about RPing sex scenes and IM contact information, please let me know. I am talking specifically if you receive such a PM from someone who either hasn't posted a character or has a very low post count. Please remember to use your common sense; not everyone on the internet is who they claim to be. --Sara
