So you have decided to RP here in On The Precipice. Great! Here is the Application and the Format you must follow.


AIM Screen name:

AIM is the social network, aside from this forum, used by most of the Rpers. Place your screen name here so you can also be involved in the AIM RPG Chat. If you do not have AIM, it is highly recommended you get it.

Name:

Self-explanatory. This is the name of your character. Please let us know whether it is in Eastern Order (Last Name, First Name) or Western Order (First Name, Last Name).

Age:

This represents two ages. One being the amount of years your character has spent in Soul Society and the other being how old your character looks.

Persona:

The unique and organized set of characteristics that shape how your character is motivated and behaves in the various situations that will be presented to him. This will tell us how your character expresses himself and his beliefs. Play around with this and have fun with it. Does your character love to help people but is unable to properly express himself? Is he unusually nice, placing a mask of kindness on his true ways of self-centeredness? Be creative and thorough.

Physical Stature:

In short, how your character looks and dresses. A description as well as a reference picture is preferred. It is discouraged to rely heavily on a reference picture and is preferred to allow us to visualize your character based on your description alone.

Biography:

A short history that presents what your character has experienced prior to enrolling into the Academy and joining the ranks of the Gotei 13. It does not need to be long and in essence less is more. Give us a one or two paragraph explanation showing us what your character has gone through, leaving a few mysteries and holes to allow yourself to develop your biography as you write.


Zanpakutou:

At first, you will not be able to use Shikai let alone Bankai as you are just starting out. This area allows you to describe your zanpakutou in its sealed state, nothing more. Give us a description of its length, the blade, the hilt, the saya, etc. Let us know the kind of sword your character will always carry. Remember you do not know the name of your zanpakutou until you have attained Shikai.

Division / Seat:

Your chosen division. Please take into consideration the specialties of each division and which divisions are open. Remember divisions that have no Captain are not open and you begin as an Unseated shinigami.

For now, there are no real divisions available. As such, please simply state you are an Unseated shinigami applying for the Gotei 13.

Stats:

All applications and new characters start off with the same stats, all E Rank, and a welcome bonus of 50 EXP to distribute. Depending on how you would like to distribute your 50 EXP, your character sheet will look like this:

Notice the number [50] in parentheses next to the Sentou stat. In order for both you and others to know, place your EXP points you have placed into each stat to the right of the rank in parentheses. Remember you are able to break up the 50 EXP and distribute it to your stats as you see fit. Also, remember that Tairyoko is a stat you are unable to place EXP into. Also, please review the Stats Thread and EXP Thread to get a better idea of what each stat represents.

As you apply and distribute to your 50 EXP as you wish, you must do one more thing, declare your Sentou Specialties. As stated in the Stats Thread, you must choose three weapons you specialize in as indicated in the italics under the Sentou stat. Those specialties will be able to be used according to your rank in Sentou. Any other weapon wielded is as strong as one Rank lower than your current Rank.


Sample Work:

A piece of writing that is used to RP your character and shows us your writing skills. You can write about your character’s life on Earth before death, life in Rukongai or even life in the Academy. It’s really up to you. Also, you may create your own NPCs to accentuate your own character and the atmosphere. This Sample Work must be a minimum of 500 words.
