Take my home, take my land, take me where I cannot stand,

Throughout history it’s always been the same story; the world has, for no apparent reason, discriminated against the underdog. In the early centuries, it was the slaves. In World Wars one and two, it was the Jewish people. More recently, it’s been the mutant race, newly recognized as actually existing, who were oppressed and threatened with crap. Injustice, disrespect, legalized genocide, these poor underdogs get it all, and there’s always been one thing in common – the self same secret kept by all of those who hold the power. If the underdogs were to band together then yeah, they would win. It was the mutants who finally worked that out.

In the year 2009, a law was passed, two years after awareness was raised of the mutant gene, asking for every man, woman and child in the world to register, except that it was only mandatory for mutants to do so. Even though it was a group of mutants who came up to save lives during the 2003 Asian tsunami, even though over the last years they have done so much for the human race in order to ensure their acceptance, still they were considered freaks, and when one mutant accidently blew up a petrol station, it was ‘the last straw’ for the human race. They had someone to blame for all the world’s troubles at last. The problem was, as mutant rights degenerated, and as their people were rounded up ‘for the good of mankind’, and as even children had to go into hiding across the entire globe, they weren’t going to take it. And in the biggest alliance yet formed, in 2010 the mutants, for lack of better phrasing, took over the world.

Maybe they didn’t treat the humans as bad as the humans treated them, but things weren’t great either. Recently, now that the year is 2012, people are beginning to compare the situation to 1984. The Government for the entire world is now based in London, England, and made up entirely of mutants, and is charged with the passing of every law, every punishment, and every celebration of man-and-mutant-kind. Mutants have become an elite race, and the humans are the underdogs, treated with less rights on the grounds that mutants are a superior evolution. Not every mutant feels this way, of course, but very, very many of them do.

Humans, on the other hand, for the first time in history are the lower and middle class citizens. They work in the mines, they work as household help for mutants, and they are the ones who don’t exactly get an argument in human experimentation and other such shit. Although they might not be as strong as the mutants to fight back, a couple of the mutants are still on their side, and in the depths of Asia, the only continent fighting back on a large scale, and in Oceania, stated by The Government as a mutant-only ghetto come haven, The Resistance have cropped up, and they intend on fighting to regain mutual equality for mutants and humans. But the longer the fight goes on, and the stronger each side gets, the more blood is shed, and it’s time to pick a side.

Your life might depend on it. In fact, it does.

Burn the land and boil the sea, but you can’t TAKE THE SKY from me!
