cell phones . It's Southern California—everyone and their grandmother apparently has a mobile communications device. Whenever you want to talk to someone out of arms reach, a cell phone is a useful piece of technology, or perhaps for some, the essential piece of technology.

la guardia . The La Guardia neighborhood is a well-known area of town and is often bustling with activity. A center of arts and culture, the La Guardia neighborhood is especially busy on weekends. downtown . The shores of Costa Vieja is one of the most popular areas of the city. High-traffic and booming real estate has reconstructed this once humble string of bungalows into a heavily-populated tourist attraction and local favorite hangout spot. Broad avenues make the commute less difficult, but traffic is still heavy. Several businesses and restaurants have opened up doors in downtown Costa Vieja, offering the residents and tourists a rich and genuine Southern California experience.

harpwell district . The Harpwell District is the city's hub for finance and business. The highest concentration of law firms, corporations, and financial planning firms can be found here. If you're looking for a job close to home that will pay your monstrous mortgage, then perhaps the Harpwell District should be the first place to look.

haverty shores . The western section of Costa Vieja is a gorgeous area of town. Palm trees line down the main artery highway running along the beach and several businesses and other organizations have opened their doors to the public within this truly 'Southern California' neighborhood. Land developers are seizing any opportunity to build on this prime piece of real estate, as the downtown and La Guardia areas are getting a little crowded.

regent's country club . An upscale coastal community would not be complete without a private country club. The country club not only has a nineteen hole golf course, but it also has a swimming pool, a private gym, and a tennis complex. Membership rates are high, but the facilities and the opportunity to hang out with Costa Vieja's wealthy may be worth the cost.

palm point . Palm Point is the only gated community in Costa Vieja. It lies on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Estates in Palm Point compete with the most expensive houses in adjacent Los Angeles County, with house values exceeding $2 million. These modern Mediterranean-style houses come in various sizes, and all of them have a killer view.

calton grove . The Calton Grove neighborhoods are close enough to the Haverty Shores to make a short commute, but far enough to stay away from the noise and pollution. Calton Grove homes arguably have the best value, with great yard space, harmonious architectural design, and close access to La Guardia High School. Prices within Calton Grove range from the 400s to middle 900s.

pacific harbor . The Pacific Harbor neighborhood is a new area of luxury housing. They do not offer a stunning view of the ocean like homes within the gated community of Palm Point. To compensate, residents are much closer to the ocean. For some lucky homeowners, The ocean might be in their backyard. Prices begin at $1 million and exceed $2 million.

classrooms . The core of La Guardia High School is not its athletic programs, but its academics. La Guardia High School has very high standards, and does not want every student to merely 'meet the standards.' You can get a lot out what La Guardia has to offer, but don't expect it to be easy.

central quad . Not all your classes will be in the same building. When that happens, you have to go out into the quad to get to your next class. The central quad is beautifully-landscaped, and it is a prime example of student life at LGHS.

cafeteria . Lunch at LGHS is pretty good, according to students and faculty. Cooking for nearly three thousand students is no easy task, but the skill of the lunch staff ensures that nothing is undercooked, or disgusting. Sure, it may not replace a good meal from home, but nourishment has to be given somewhere.

gymnasium . The gymnasium is an expensive facility and a testament to LGHS athletics. The basketball team at LGHS has seen multiple state titles, and the boy's volleyball program is one of the best in the state of California. Located at the west campus of the school, the gymnasium contains a basketball/volleyball stadium, next to an indoor pool, and a set of locker rooms and a weight-training facility.

guidance office . La Guardia High School cares about the scholastic achievements of their students, and is willing to provide as much as possible to help students perform well. The staff in the guidance office have resources available for students to succeed. Or perhaps for students who don't need too much help, you can pick up registration packets for the SAT.

athletic facilities . La Guardia High School overall has had a strong athletic department thanks to the numerous facilities and talent of the student-athletes. Winning has become a tradition at LGHS, but it takes a lot of work to get there. Step inside the numerous facilities to become a part of this tradition.
