Today was a surprisingly sunny day. It was a nice break from the normal dreary grayness that had surrounded the castle as of late and she was glad for it. So naturally as many students had today she’d dropped her thing off up in the Gryffindor tower and come outside to enjoy it. Unfortunately she had forgotten her camera and was feeling a bit on the lazy side so there’d be no photography today. But Juliana supposed she could go a day without it. Today she would just enjoy herself and not worry about anything.

She had briefly considering going down to the lake but it looked rather crowded down there as groups of people competed from space on the shore. So she’d decided against the idea, she really wasn’t in the mood to fight for a place to sit. So twirling her wand absently in her hand Juli had headed for a relatively empty looking patch of grass on the lawns where she wouldn’t have to listen to gossiping girls or boys arguing over who was more manly. Ok, maybe that was a stereotype but whatever. She really didn’t want to deal with anyone whom she didn’t like at this moment and she wasn’t about to ruin this pretty day with a fight. She just wanted to enjoy it.

With a sigh she lay down in the grass and well just laid there for a few minutes. Her mind wandered to the homework she’d have to do later and when quidditch practice was going to start and a billion of things she had to worry about. Sometimes she thought that life would be easy if she didn’t care so much about that kind of stuff but then she’d be tending toward apathy and apathetic was the last thing she wanted to be. Indifferent people were boring and boring was not what she wanted to be. Besides Juli had too many interesting people in her life to be boring.

Closing her eyes to avoid being blinded by the sun she rolled over onto her side throwing an arm out haphazardly into the surrounding empty grass. Where were those interesting people anyway? Probably doing interesting things, Juliana answered herself. Well now thinking about all the things she could be doing she was feeling a bit…bored? Maybe, after all lying in the grass was none too exciting. Another sigh escaped her lips as she rolled onto the opposite side throwing the other arm out hoping for someone to come running to rescue her from this. Some interesting person who would make laying here more fun.

Another day, another homework assignment.
Yawn.

There was absolutely nothing interesting about History of Magic. You’d think that one war would be enough for those damnable giants. But, no. They had to go off and have ruddy hundreds! He was fairly certain that it was a conspiracy. They all got together and decided that they were going to be blundering idiots and have more wars than they need, just so they could bore poor, poor him to death.

It had worked.
Face literally pressed into his textbook and arms stretched across the desk before him, it’s quite possible that someone could mistake him for dead. That is, until he sneezed.

“Great,” he muttered bitterly. “Now the damn book’s got me sick. Are you happy now?!” he accused, arms stretched toward the ceiling, the same direction in which blue optics were focused. Thank Merlin the room was otherwise empty; that might’ve been tricky to squirm out of.

However, it was enough to tell him that it was high time he gave up on his studies (you’d think that twelve minutes would be enough for one day) and made his presence known on the Grounds, where it seemed everyone had migrated at the finish of classes. Everyone except him, that is. Something he was now regretting as he packed his textbook, scraps of parchment, ink vial and quill into his knapsack, slung it over his shoulder (his very manly shoulder, he would like to remind you all), and sauntered out of the classroom. Yes, sauntered. You know- in case anyone was looking.

Luckily, he’d chosen an empty classroom near the Entrance Hall, so it was only moments before he was out of the castle and standing on the steps before the large oaken doors. Let’s see…

Many were congregated near the Lake, but it was a particular flash of blonde that caught his attention. Ah, yes: Juliana.

He’d always been rather close with his sister, though it wasn’t often that they talked outside of the dormitory. She was usually hanging around with her friends or…well, hanging around people (whether she knew them or not, he wasn’t quite sure), and he was nearly always with someone, which left little time for them to converse. When they were in the dormitory, however, it was a different story.

Still, Sebastian felt inclined to surprise (and, consequently, grace) her with his company. She looked like she could use it; he couldn’t help but smile as she rolled over in what looked to be boredom. Oh, yes. They were certainly related. If you couldn’t tell through appearance, then their similar mannerisms would tip you off.

“Juliana Creevey. Fancy seeing you here,” he greeted, setting his knapsack beside him as he settled down beside her on the grass.
