welcome!

life in a small town is never as quaint and simple as it seems. there's always someone with a secret and always trouble to be found. why should aylett be any different?

welcome to aylett, virginia. a rural community with only one school for each grade level for the entire county, it's mostly farm land and country stores. there's a problem with the crime rate, though. no, no inner city problems. drugs and domestic violence seem to really reign supreme, here, and two local gangs like to clash for power in the county.

can the police keep the citizens of this quiet little county safe or will they fall to the crime and disorder that seems to be threatening their peaceful existence. only you can make that decision while you search for a lifeline.

central crossing shopping center
located at the intersection, behind the burger king, this is the busiest and, really, the only shopping center for the county. here, you can find a small, general store, restaurants, and a food lion, it's enough to suit any immediate needs you might have.

the gas stations, three
renny's has the smoke shack, a great place to buy whatever tobacco products you might want. it's also built into the same building as the burger king. too bad it's always getting robbed... 7-11 has the best coffee but fas-mart has a place to buy hot foods and just sit around and talk. it's a common meeting place for many of the older people.

it's the new gym in the area. not much but it's better than the curves, down the street, is open 24-7, and is closer than the american family fitness in mechanicsville. the only thing it's lacking is a pool.

the local, volunteer fire and rescue house. many of the high school students taking the medical classes volunteer here. it's great for a fish fry, spaghetti dinner, and breakfast with santa. need to rent out the building for a large gathering? go for it.

perkin's farmhouse
an abandoned farm house hidden away, off of 30. it's, now, used for underground raves and mud bogs. the police end up busting everyone at this place at least once a week.

purina
so many people work here, you'd think you were living in the inner city. the purina factory has been around since most people can remember and is one place that most feel secure about getting a job with. they pay well and many families are thankful for the long hours offered.

a metaphysical shop that caters to all spiritual beliefs. it doesn't matter what religion you are, it's got a little bit of something for everyone. from crystals to incense to herbs to candles, books, and beyond, it's stocked with a little bit of everything for all your needs. don't forget to check out the fairy room.

the mattaponi river
usually just referred to as the mattaponi [mat-ah-po-nai], this is the high light of warm weather fun. perfect for fishing, boating, and swimming, it's an easy access to the chesapeake watershed.

mccauley park is definitely a little more upscale than, say, the rose garden estates, but the houses in aylett, no matter how old, seem to have that nice, homely feel.

richmond
welcome to virginia's capital. located approximately forty-five minutes away from aylett, to the southwest down I95 or route 360, it's the closest you'll get if you're looking for a decent club or trendy restaurant. it's also home to the j. sergeant reynolds and virginia commonwealth university, two of the most picked colleges for those in the area, both known for their medical programs.

mechanicsville
before you get into richmond, you pass through mechanicsville. mostly known for it's small outlet stores, walmart, a few doctor's offices, and a gym, it's nothing impressive but it's big and it's the one place to go when you're bored and need something to do for the weekend or after school.

tappahannock
probably mostly known for chris brown, this place isn't all that impressive. it's home to the rappahannock community college and has a small cinema but nothing too much. it's located about twenty-five minutes in the opposite direction of mechanicsville but people don't seem as interested in it.

king's dominion
the largest employer of minors in the state of virginia, it's the reason for the dominion rule, the reason schools don't open until after labor day. with some 20+ rides and a large water park, it's really the only thing to brag about, around here.

the season starts in march, open on the weekends until memorial day, when it opens full time. after labor day, it's open only on the weekends, leading up to the halloween haunt - a halloween themed festival.

virginia beach
about two and a half hours to the east, there's virginia beach. located on the atlantic ocean, it's a great place to spend beach week, check out the sailors, and just have fun. during the summer, it offers some really great concerts and, during the off season, it's just a nice place to hide out and quite the romantic spot for couples.

virginia really is for lovers.
