Opinions Needed, From Everyone

So, it'd take a bit of an idiot to not notice that Citrine has been slowly but sure coming to a semi-complete halt. We've called it sleep before, and the metaphor is apt, but Kiki and I have begun to think that we shouldn't keep trying to wake it up. The site's had a good couple years, a splendid couple years, and we aren't sure anymore we want to keep pushing to keep it active. It might be worth it to close it officially, to give it a definitive ending.

We didn't feel it was fair to close it completely without asking any players who are still around for their opinions on the matter, thus this announcement and poll.

We do not intend to delete or remove any characters or threads, because we know that we are not the only ones who have worked hard on this site. Thank you for playing.

Our sister site, Tourmaline, will be remaining open for now. There are no plans currently for closing it.

I voted no. I'm sorry I haven't been active, but I will jump back in if you decide to keep it up for a while longer.

That said, I understand about deciding to close Citrine.

I don't really care. I will come back if needed, I just haven't been on because nobody else seems to be on and we were moving and all sort'sa crazy stuff and yeah.

I really love this site when its active and full of people to play all of the characters needed to develop the crazy plots that come to life here. But lately people have either moved on or have become to busy with school, work, personal problems, ect. to really do this place justice. I know I'm one to blame; I had work all summer and then school hit me hard this year, so I just havent been able to devoit time to something like Citrine.

So tradgically I voted yes. This site has had a great run and I'll support you guys if you decide to close it down or keep it open.

Hunter: I've unlocked the desert in its entirity so that you can read it or save it as you please, though I've kept replies locked.

No matter what happens, we won't be taking the archives down, or locking the out of character boards or anything.

I'm actually surprised - Lyo and Hunter, at least, I thought long gone. Pleasantly surprised, in point of fact.

Busy lives - perhaps dating ourselves...

In my case, well... I think the decision rests with the administration, but leaving the boards and such intact and viewable at least for a goodly while seems more than fair...

Citrine provides a great deal of amusement, and a lot of fodder for chatter and writing outside of the site itself, I think... And it would be a shame not to hear the banter among you all. ; ))

Still, hm. Perhaps it is best that it closes, I have no argument against it.

The voting's pretty torn, I'm pretty torn, and no decision has yet been reached.
