The sudden blaze of golden light caused Demeter to glance behind her. Technically, Summer wasn't supposed to be here. But then, it wasn't like anything was going to keep the goddess of battle from a Hunt in any way, shape or form.

Perhaps having her horse stumbled into from behind had also caused Demeter to turn her head, actually. "Careful, brother. I didn't know you were so...clumsy," she snapped icily, more and more un-autumn-like.

As for the prey? "Suppose we start with something small. To whet your appetite," she said pointedly to Persephone. "A white stag, perhaps?" (That a white stag doesn't really exist at the moment means nothing.)

Persephone bares her teeth - a grin?

"I like it. Let it be so."

Ahead of the riders, something white, just a hint of some thing. A flash of color in the mist, nothing more.

The goddess of winter bends over her horse's mane, forbearing further talk.

She takes herself out to the left, steed drawing slowly further ahead.

She loves speed, does Persephone.

Adriel barely had time to smirk at his sisters witty coment about his grace, before Valerin arrived, which prompted a rather sudden scowl. Adriel doesnt look pleasent with a scowl, it would probably send little mortals running and screaming in the opposite direction. Not that he expects Valerin to do that.

As soon as Demeter stated her choice of game, Adriels smile returned and he swiftly kicked his horse to take off after Persephone, heading to the right and a bit slower than the goddess. Adriel likes speed of course, but the mind game of the hunt was generally his more favored part.

Frightening how moody he is sometimes.

Usually, the goddess of War was light-hearted and always looking for a good time.

In instances like this, though, she was a completely different being.

Competition brought out the worst (best?) in Valerin. Her golden eyes narrowed in concentration as she took the shining bow off her back. Her steed was a war-horse, and was able to respond to the slightest pressure from her knees. Good warriors didn't need to use reins--weren't able to use reins--and focused completely on the weapons in their hands.

Yes, she knew she was mostly unwelcome here. Her and Wodens got along, for the most part, but it ended there.

Her horse surged ahead. She nocked an arrow--ready and waiting.

The Goddess of War never lost. NEVER.

The gods of death moving in tandem - how very fitting.

Persephone hefts her spear - for it is a spear now, with pale blade and dark wood and a balance fit for a god.

She throws a grin Valarin's way - there's always a rivalry there, summer and winter.

Why wait? She throws, misses, calls the spear back to her.

She catches it with a wild laugh.

Why is Wodens even here?

He's wondering that himself.

However, he's too lazy to bother leaving, now that he is here, and his horse at least is enjoying the gallop.

It's turned palomino.

The knight woke up, and Wodens is hijacking some other dream.

ooc: In the interest of getting through the thread, I move to summarize the rest. Persephone will be wild and laughing and probably kill some things she particularly likes, because she needs new toys. Also, her choice of targets is one of the last dragons. Naughty goddess hunting endangered species like that, isn't she?

ooc: I guess I'll follow suite with the summerizing- Adriel probably wont kill anyone elses choice of game, no need to really since he kind of does it for a living. Though he probably came up with something witty like a phonix seeing as they never truely die and are hard to come by and so forth. Will probably remain smirking in a relatively good mood while they are actually hunting, though will most likely return to his moody self when they resume to talking.

My summary: Like I'd been hinting for the past few posts, Demeter will be less than chummy towards Persephone and downright venomous towards Adriel. The departure from her usual "mother" routine, plus the excitement of the hunt, continues to pull her closer to Xilonen.

((And Wodens just follows along, alternately amused and bored, and probably won't actually kill anything. However, half the people who are asleep are dreaming of this, in variously vague terms, and are not enjoying it in the slightest.))

((And Valerin will have a rip-roaring good time, probably trying to pass around her hip flask in between prey and not really be offended when everyone refuses. Since I'm guessing she'd get at least one of the kills, she'll gloat a little bit, and talk about the glory days, and describe all the magnificent battles she's been in, and generally ignore all the dirty looks she keeps getting. She'll be friendly with Wodens, and sidle up to the God of Death, since they kind of like the same thinhg. She'll continue her giddy rivalry with the old Lady, and generally have fun. Valerin really doesn't have any current disagreements with anyone.
