So...what's this anime about then? mellow.gif

I hear it's a fairly bad anime, but the high tech stuff is pretty cool. I like the concept of it...well at least according to the way my friend told me about it. It's something about how everybody has high tech robotic brains? And the phenomenon known as 'stand alone complex' in which they attempt to conform around an ideal that doesn't really exist? huh.gif Can anyone explain this thing further?

As a side note...you all should go watch Trigun, it's a fantastic anime.

Good to see you're alive Russ. And yeah, everyone's opinions differ. Some people still like Naruto, personally I absolutely cannot stand the filler episodes crap.

It's like watching Pokemon, only with more ninjas. ohmy.gif It's just so utterly cheeasy and over-happy and positive it makes me wanna puke...I demand violence! dry.gif

But I'll give it a shot, although out of curiosity, what subjects DO they bring up Russ?

And it sucks to hear about your manifold gasket. It seems like the Rx-7 has given you a WHOLE bunch of trouble in the past few months. sad.gif

the subjects are more made up but they do have quote acutal books and people from real life. Thats what makes it good. And my car is easy to fix. Just a 2 hour job and a 8 dollar part.

That's good to hear. It's been a real pain in the ass just to switch out steering rack bushings on the old Subaru. sad.gif

FYI Manji, if you ever do get whiteline rack bushings (definitely a worthy investment) remember to unbolt BOTH driver/passenger side brackets before working on those bushings. Oh yeah, and grease is your friend, power steering lines are not. sad.gif

Original movie? I wasn't even aware there was a movie. huh.gif And what the heck is Akira?

The characters in there are so conflicted, I love it, plus the fighting is realistic and badass. Nice and short, no drama, but entertaining. wink.gif

Watch the last episode, the fight between him and Knives is the stuff of legends.

Yeah, the movie is just "Ghost in the Shell". And Akira is probably the best known anime in the world, not my personal favorite, but it is hella good.

Meh, might as well download it next. In about 30 seconds I will have completely finished downloading Ghost in a Shell: SAC botht he 1st and 2nd gig. And by the end of tonight (after i sleep) I'll download the movie as well.

But then again, my download of 1st gig started this morning and it said it would finish in '3 hours 45 minutes'. 9 hours later it's at '0 minutes 30 seconds'. huh.gif

Just finished watching the first ten episodes of Ghost in a Shell 1st gig. It's okay so far...no real solid plot line though. I'm really into all the high techness of the place, but seriously, each episode is just a new mission or case. The only real underlying plot is the Laughing Man Complex thing, but it's moving at a pretty slow pace.

I've yet to see any of these deep underlying thoughts that Russ mentioned. huh.gif
