So....the vid is more proof of my beliefs.

Bikes are cheaper, faster in a straight line, and higher chance of death.

Cars are OBSCENELY more expensive, but quicker through corners and quicker to stop in some cases.

But the bike was only a split second slower in the hot lap, but it's enough to get the point across. Good fun watching a bike and car overtake each other. happy.gif

Kinda funny too, because the R1 isn't very good at handling- most Japanese bikes aren't. The best handling bikes in the world are Ducati's, nothing can corner better, on 2 or 4 wheels.

So I hear, but I don't really see too many Ducatis anywhere...either in real life OR internet clippings. huh.gif

But seeing as how I keep seeing a bunch of hype about Ducatis all around the internet and on forums, I'll probably end up getting one WAY WAY down the road just to see if the hype lives up to the real thing.

Speaking of which, how IS your Ducati doing? Still riding I hope?

Yeah, we're about to jump it again to get the engine running for summer. I'm excited!

I may be buying a 996 within a year or so too, so that's got me psyched.

Nice, but how can you afford both the WRX AND the Ducati? huh.gif

that's quite a lot of money to spend on insurance ALONE, not to mention maintenance/repairs and such. sad.gif

Jump it again? Wait you never ride the bike during the spring/fall seasons? huh.gif

well anyways, personally I got about $3k in the bank account. Since I work at a computer warehouse now, I'm spending it to build a super computer. Dual core cpu and all the stuffins, and with the HEFTY discount I get as an employee (wholesale price + 3% of cost), it might nick off $1k at the most.

Then I'm buying my airsoft mp5, shooting my friends with BBs when they get pissy sounds like a pretty sweet idea to me. happy.gif Then the rest goes into car maintenance and EVENTUALLY....a bike.

Yeah the bike thing I might have to put off for awhile, the WRX is a cruel and high maintenance mistress.

...wow...you responded like MONTHS after the last post was posted. laugh.gif

And you're quite lucky, I NEVER see Ducatis. Mostly japanese bikes, or Harleys, or something like that. Meh.

So how's life on the isle of Aussies? I've actually met...SEVERAL aussies recently over the internet..as usual...it's like I'm cursed to forever meet Australians or something. dry.gif

I'm sorta busy myself, but I still pop in the forums now and then to see if anybody is still alive. huh.gif

Anyways, quick update on my life, I basically work all day long and come home to eat some food, do some stuff on the internet, and then completely pass out.

    Rinse and repeat.

However, I start my specialized mechanics school on October 30th. So basically I'll be in class (and by class I mean 2 hours in class, 4 hours doing work in the garage) from 6am-12pm, and then work from 1pm-730pm. And that's how it's probably gonna be like for a whole year...

Plus I'm moving out and finding my own place, so I also gotta take care of rent and food and stuffins.

So I guess you can say I'll be extremely busy for the next year and 9 weeks. But if all goes well, and I maintain high grades and 98% attendance, I can get into the BMW course, and make me a specialized BMW super technician dude.
