DANGEROUS SIREN SONG: AN EXPOSE ON THE 707s!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Most of heard of The 707s. But they don't think about good music that is trying to bound around the world. They think of the drugs, the filth, the betrayals, and worst of all, the lead singer, Jada Dresdner. What makes one woman want to send her own self down a path of destruction her bandmates can't stop her from? What makes her ruin her career and the others along for the ride? Drugs and a bad voice. That's what. Several times, she has been reported with some little white demons below her nose, hotel-ripping, and the worst of all, passing out on stage. Somehow, the fans keep coming back for me. This truly baffles me. I ponder the thought of why ANYONE would want to be put through screeching guitars, yelling voices, and un-synched drums.

It's for the dangerous lifestyle The 707s have created. I like to call it "the myth age of 707s" just because Dresdner can be seen as somewhat a siren with a song to attract fans. It's not her music that does it, it is her thrill that she brings wherever she goes. It's the way she lights up afterparties, the way she'll sale coke for money. Times are changing and people don't care about the music anymore. They care for the lead singers that are attention-crazed and lucky in their own manner.

Recently, I attended a concert hall where The 707s opened up for The Hypnos. While the other band members appeared on stage clean and ready to give a good show, here comes Dresdner, dirty and apathetic. Her first words: "Shut the fuck up and listen. We're The 707s and we're here to rock you guys off." Of course, it was completely slurred. A small roar came from the center while bypassers looked rather annoyed. I was way in the back, as far away from the sound. The guitars started rather badly. A sense of tension was noticeable on everyone's face. If I were to be backstage, there's no telling if I could make it out alive. To keep a band together, there has to be no tension. What creates such tension? Just one band member to fuck it up. Jada opens her mouth and another roar comes from the crowd. It's the raw, unpowerful voice of Jada that attracts them. The raspy, coked-out voice. It's her siren song, and she is planning her downfall. She will bring her fans and her bandmates down with her. I wish them luck. On Dresdner's part, she needs no luck.
