Brave New Digital World, The epic RP of the century on the DE!

As the stories always go, you wake up confused in an unfamiliar place. You stand on a beach with a few other people who seem just as confused as you are. Behind you lies an endless ocean, sparkling from the sun in the sky. Ahead of you, the sand slowly becomes a long plain of hard, dark dirt. Further down, you see an expansive forest with a huge tower jutting out of it towards the heavens.

As your eyes follow the tower up, you can feel the anxiety from the others around you. They were all staring up. You follow the rest of the tower with your gaze until you see what has the others in awe: the planet Earth, floating in the sky above.

"What the fuggidy fuck is going on here?" was the sentiment on everyone's mind, as so graciously shouted out by one of the guys among them.

YEAAAAAH. NEW RP. I have an idea that's gonna make this one different. To keep things along a narrative and to bind everything, I'm going to play a Dungeon Master like role and give you posts like the one above that will move the plot. You guys make your posts in reaction to those however you want to and I'll make the next one based on what the group decides together. I'll be RPing a character as well, but I'm not going to use him as a plot device. He'll be just as real as everyone else. Plus, everything I post as the narrator will be determined by the group's posts and everyone's actions.

Another idea I want to utilize to make this one interesting is to try using a first person lens in the posts. Instead of saying your character's name, refer to yourself as I. It'll make it more like we're playing the role rather than just writing it. I think it'd also be cool if we did our personal narratives in grey and speech with no quotes, but in a color. I'm gonna make my post to show you what I mean and then you guys can take the cue and go with it. I have ideas for this one that's gonna make it flipping sweet and I think this is a good idea. I hope the techniques of it will make it more engaging and active and that the fun of it will bring us all closer together.

One minute there, the next one here, wherever here really is. And wherever this is freaks me out. The terrain shifts strike me as otherworldly, and what's with that tower? Oh, and of course the obvious question, how did I get here?

Whoa, there's actually a bunch of people here. What's going on? How did we get here?

Is that the Earth in the sky?

So you see what I mean? Narrate everything you see and do through your character's thoughts and say what you're gonna say in color to distinguish it from your thoughts and to make reading only what the characters say is easier. My hope is that we're gonna break into straight conversations of all speech posts to emulate us actually deciding what we're gonna do in the Digital World.

As I'm sure you can tell, I have a lot of hope for this. I've only said it a bunch of times. But that's all I can have because I need your guys help for this so I can't do it without you. So let's do it to it.

[Chaotic Fear]

The first thing I know, I'm standing in the sand staring up at the Earth in the sky. I can hear the waves crashing on the beach before noticing there are others standing here. They look just as confused as I am. I'll wait to hear what they say.

Then it hits me; if I'm not on on Earth, where am I; where are my friends, my family, my girlfriend? This better not be like Riverworld, that movie's premise sucked.

I look at the landscape, wanting to see what the tower looks like.
