Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response Group is part of the National 4x4 Response Network. We are all volunteers who have placed our vehicles, skills and equipment at the disposal of the community in times of need, whether it be flooding, a major incident, or the need to access a remote area to help someone in distress. We provide community four wheel drive support when the conditions and terrain are severe. We are not a search and rescue organisation, but can put our vehicles to use in support of SAR organisations, or the police, ambulance and Fire and Rescue Services, in conjunction with other charitable organisations such as the British Red Cross, WRVS, RNLI, St. John's Ambulance and local councils. We provide transport to people and places cut-off by flooding, access to places surrounded by bad terrain, and a means of transporting relief supplies and relief personnel to such places. This service is provided on a voluntary basis and we are available 365 days a year, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, whatever the weather or conditions.
