Smell the Roses

The idea is: Here you can take time to... smell the roses.

If anyone knows of any beautiful photography resources, then here is the place to share that with everyone. Then when you need a bit of a breather, this is one place where you can come for tips on where to chill out a little.

• Isabel Cutler's Canon A-80 archive. This lady has a good eye for sure. Not every shot's a masterpiece, but there are enough to make it worth your while. You'll find more archives there too.

• Charlie Waite is an old favourite, of course. You've probably seen some of his Tuscany postcards yourself. Select a gallery of his here or even all galleries combined if you prefer.

• Ken Hornbrook has some nice things at this site but it's a fraction stingy on picture size. A little too slanted to selling, perhaps.

• James Kay is someone who frowns on digital 'cheating' in his photographic efforts. He does some nice things discovering nature's abstract patterns.

• Pete Dobre does some wonderful things for sure, but will hardly give you a look at 'em. His books are simply stunning in-hand!

• Or if you tire of aesthetic bliss and want something a little whacky, then check out Catherine Ames' attempts to come to terms with her demons... Occasionally it works.

But Gerard, you're absolutely right! Rose from petals is fantastic, and we haven't begun to find it's uses.

I always smell roses when Blessed Mother comes about. And no, she hasn't been by out here in the desert.

Yes roses, lavender heads are good too;-)
But now you've got me thinking about some 'orgone art' where l could use whole petals to be seen through clear resin with my favourite coil below....

And yes the photography is spectacular!

Very good, yes, and that rose pops right in your mush too - when you click on it.

Well, there are even more worthy sites, the more I think about it. Remember too, that most of these galleries will lead you on to other offerings by the same artist or those doing related work.

So with the limit of images per post perilously close for the first one, I'd better start another list here now...

• Frantisek Staud is another photographer I've been a long time admirer of... going back years. Especially his stunning travelogue imagery of Japan. He still does it the old way even now, I believe. That means slides rather than megabytes in flash-ram, in case you cannot remember!
