Love?
Love is held to be many different things, by many different people. It is a word we use so often, but one which few can truly say they understand. It is a word that stands by itself, because no matter how hard you try, no other words within our language can come close to describing it fully. Though that does not stop us from trying. To some, it is like the sky, on a bright summers day. The feeling of the sun washing over you, as the breeze gently brushes your face, and as you watch the clouds move slowly across the sky. To others, it is like the sky on a twilit night. Where all is peaceful and calm. And with every star you see, it is another reason for you to do nothing but smile. It is something beautiful, something that the mere thought of it, will bring a warmth and smile to not only your face, but to your very core. It is the feeling of fulfilled hope. Something that is scarcely found at times, with the many horrors our world can contain. Through good times and bad. Whether you are smiling, or crying. It shines for you regardless. Love itself is nothing but good. It is pure, unselfish, and forever giving without request for anything in return. It is something felt by the heart, and never understood by the mind. ------------------- When relationships end. And we find ourselves crying out in pain. It is not the love that hurts us. Nor is it the feeling of love dying. Love never truly dies, and there is always a part of us that still cares. It simply becomes lost to us behind the pain of lost chances, of a future we may no longer have. That realisation that all the plans we made, all the hopes we had, may never come to fruition, is something that cuts to the core. Because love is such a thing, that it makes you believe that anything is possible. That any hope can be fulfilled. Sometimes correctly so, but when a different outcome decides to fall upon us, the shock is almost unbearable. Some may say that this is the bad that comes with love. And in a way it is. But it was our choice to become lost within it. It was our choice to look to the future, and see it as a certainty, rather than to see each moment you have had, each moment you are in love, and smile knowing that regardless of the future, regardless of the outcome, you know what love is. You know what it's like to have a hope fulfilled. But that is hard to do. As we inevitably look to the future, and plan for the one we hope for. But if we could, then memories of the past would not bring forth feelings of pain and anger over having a future ripped from us. Instead, we would be left smiling because of the love we had felt. Love that always remains, whether in memories, or forever alive as a hope. It remains. At least in my experience...... (Not bad for a first post no?) |

Thanks
No, I don't have a degree in poetry, or anything even close. I dropped English soon as i completed GCSE level and never looked back It's just a subject I've spent alot of time thinking about over the last few years. |

Say what you think. Thoughts and views on a subject are best when you take into account the entire thing. That includes the before, the during, and the after. So long as you're honest with how it appears to you, then you're in a perfect position to say something. |

Ok then...well hopefully things will begin to calm at some point. Then you can enlighten us with your view. It's an interesting subject...seen in so many different ways. Would be nice to hear how each person views it.

okies, you want my opinion?
well this is how it stands for the moment,, love is.. as far as i can tell, something beautiful, something that makes you smile from the inside, but burns a hole so deep, you never fully recover. it is something to treasure, something to do anything to try and hold on to. but at teh same time it makes yo want to scream really loud and give it all up, not wanting it, but feeling that you're incomplete without it. -------------------- ![]() jiyuu wo takaku kawasareta ki mo suru ga kokoro made yasuku uritobasu hara wa nai . . . . . . |
