IN A LAND OF MYTH AND A TIME OF MAGIC;
Welcome, Fáilte, Willkommen, Bienvenue etc. FTL is a literate roleplay based on the BBC/Shine drama 'Merlin'. While we're not overly strict, we must ask you read the rules and the plot before joining. It saves any complications later. Have Fun! - Staff.

After the unfathomable heat of the last few months, winter has finally arrived in our fair Camelot. The King is hosting banquets for visiting nobility while the servants begin the decorating of the castle for the winter festives. Everyone is invited and, if you're not nobility, the royal servants will be more than happy to have you attend their little get togethers either in the servants quarters or in the lower town.

We are currently accepting both canons and originals but would be much appreciative if you adopted a canon. The administration as that when you apply, you do so with your First and Last name if nobility (with Lord or Lady before it) or if you are a servant, just use your First name. If you are a knight, the same rules apply as if you were nobility, only place a Sir at the start. The staff are able to change your name after registering but it's a tedious business so please, save us the time we could be using on other site things.

I think I'm drowning
asphyxiated
I wanna break this spell
that you've created

I'D STAY THE HAND OF GOD
BUT THE WAR IS ON YOUR LIPS
YO, THE NAME'S astrid. I'VE BEEN JUMPING AROUND THIS WORLD FOR twenty YEARS NOW, BUT ONLY FOUND THIS SPOT three YEARS AGO. I WAS LED TO THIS HAPPENING PLACE BY KTMS. IF YOU LISTENED CLOSE ENOUGH, YOU COULD HEAR perceval le gallois, you silly english kniggets, BUT I GUESS THAT DOESN'T MATTER TOO MUCH. LASTLY, I'D JUST LIKE TO USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY la la la la. OH! WAIT! AND I LIKE camlan hill
BRACE MYSELF FOR RAZOR BLADES
EVERYTHING WITH MEANING IS SHATTERED
    FULL NAME: Elizabeth Asquith
    NAME MEANING:
comes from the Greek form of the Hebrew 'Elisheva' and means "my God is an oath", Asquith -no idea, but apparently comes from Middle English
    NICKNAMES:
Beth , Liz or Lizzie to her friends and do all the the fake names she's currently using qualify as nicknames?
Evelyn Whitbread and Clarrisant Dalloway are ones among many.
    SEX:female
    AGE:24
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: straight, to tell the truth, had she been a man she probably would be considered a chauvinistic pig.
    ETHNICITY:white caucasian
MEMBER GROUP: criminal, not exactly a bandit villager...but you know wink.gif anything illegal? she's the one you're likely to go to
    CANON OR ORIGINAL:
    original
THIS DAY WILL DIE TONIGHT
AND THERE AIN'T NO EXCEPTION
    FACE CLAIM:Amy Adams
HAIR:auburn red and considering her low birth rather disheveled, unless she's impersonating someone more noble than she really is, which actually happens quite often.
    EYES:blue
    HEIGHT & WEIGHT: 5'5" and 125lbs
BODY TYPE:slender and willowy, but not without an athletic side to it, one has to perform quite the acrobatics in order to escape the Camelot guards after all.
    DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
well, to tell the truth her main point is not to have any distinguishing features, since that makes her an easier catch, though obviously her features are quite remarkable, which usually leads her to being covered up almost from head to toe, when she's on the 'wanted' list. If it counts for anything, she has the 'innocent' look down to perfection.
TRICK WITH A DOUBLE TONGUE
BUT THE ONLY FOOL HERE'S ME
    LIKES:
    -money, loads of it
    -jewellery
    -valuable trinkets
    -mulled wine
-dicing (and cheating at it too)
    -summer
    -men
-nobility (they make an easy target)
    -rooftops
    -her job
    -bread and butter pudding
    -poisons
    -gypsies
    -her dirk
    DISLIKES:
-Uther, even though she does not hold a bitterly personal grudge, despite him executing her coworker and partner-in-crime for sorcery. She doesn't seek revenge, but it doesn't stop her from finding him an unjust tyrant.
    -dungeons
-Camelot guards, even though she thinks they are evidently stupid
-markets; selling anything remotely valuable is truly impossible. They'll hassle with you for hours.
-being on the run, but then again it is a neccessary evil.
    -shackles
-fortune tellers; even she's honest compared to them
-sorcerers; unless they're on her side and/or can bring her profit
-being robbed; well it happens to the best too, eh?
    STRENGTHS:
    -agile and fast
-an extremely good acrobat; she used to accomany trubadur troupes
-calculating, intelligent and thoroughly machivellian (in both good and bad ways)
-can adapt to virtually any conditions and crawl her way out of sticky situations
-a brilliant, brilliant thief and not half-bad assasin, given the right opportunity
    -a decent knowledge of herbology
    WEAKNESSES:
-too self-confident at times, which often gets her in trouble
    -next to no morale
-few true friends, she's far better at making a)mortal enemies b)business partners, therefore when worst comes to worst she's usually left to fend for herself
    -untrustworthy (well, duh)
    -cold-hearted
    -vindictive
    -greedy
HABITS/QUIRKS: a rather concerning case of kleptomania that one, which probably means that she is a natural at her job, but then again sweeping off things that she does not need but prove valuable to the wrong sort of people is quite dangerous. She also has a perchant for gambling and ruggedly handsome men, if that counts as a habit. As for quirks Liz does not allow herself to have many, she is a professional, after all.

OVERALL HISTORY: at least four good sized paragraphs
WON'T CRY FOR MY SOLITUDE
LAY MY HEAD AND DREAM OF YOU
    MEMBER TITLE:
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: It's from KTMS, so she's slightly different
QUOTE
Aaaaaaahhhhh!
Beth jumped out of her bed as though someone slipped in a hot coal. Then again, judging from the heap of shaking limbs and subdued giggles coming from the opposite bed, maybe someone did throw in a hot coal. She spun around and unceremoniously smacked her brother, whose chuckles erupted into full-blown guffawing. The little shi--

And then she remembered.
OH. NO.
Beth gave an audible gasp of utter dread, which was impressive all in itself; conveying so much with so little and dove into the rackety desk of drawers, furiously searching for a gown. Tugging her bedclothes over her head with one hand and pulling on the fresh linen with the other, Beth jumped around and into the kitchen with a fervour of a truly deranged person.
Late. SO VERY VERY LATE.
She splashed her face with water, stuffed an apple promptly into her face as one might into a piglet and hunted for her boots with the haunted expression of someone whose execution depended on whether or not they found suitable footwear. She discovered them finally and promptly putting them on and grabbing her cloak by the door sprinted off to meet her lady, trying not to accidentally topple people over or worse shove them out of the godamn way as she was tempted to do.

Please God. Let me not be fired. Let me not be fired. Let me not be--
She took a violent turn and stopped herself just in time not to collide-rather painfully- with the doors of the inn. If one thing could be said about Beth, it was that she was a fast runner.
Taking a deep breath she braced herself for the worst. Oh well, she hoped Camelot would take her back if anything else. Pushing the door open she nodded a 'good morning' to the Inn keeper, who just shook his head at her fondly and she run up the stairs and into the guestroom.
Beth really hoped her Lady was not in a foul mood and would not fire her before she even poked her head in. Truth to be told, the girl rather enjoyed attending Lady Elizabeth; she was spirited and feisty.
Putting on as much humbleness into her facial expression as possible, something her mother flippantly called 'a wounded doe' she entered her Lady's chambers and courtsied apologentically.
