A new encounter, Merlin

Her time in Camelot had only really just begun, and after seeing Arthur, Kadeligh was feeling in top form. She could not wait to see her old friends and to see her brother. It would be amusing to see the suprise on their faces, especially on her brother's. She hadn't seen him in almost two or three years. He had usually visited when he could, but the past few years he'd never had the time. Oh how she missed him, the two were as thick as thieves, she couldn't imagine life without him.

Deciding that now was as good as time as any to go see Gaius; the court physician whome she had not seen for many years, she began to make her way from her temporary home to Gauis' chambers. Last time she had seen him, she'd had been a child, so she was eager to see him and find out how much he'd changed, she hoped he had not changed too much, she had liked him as he was, but time changed all people, she just hoped he was as kind and upbeat as he'd always been. She couldn't really imagine a Gaius that never smiled. That was what had always comforted her if she'd gotten hurt and had to go see him, he had always been gentle with her, and his smile had always calmed her down. She remembered when she was a child, she had fallen and hurt herself, and good, kind and gentle Gauis had seen to her. It seemed only right to see him after all these years.

Making her way across the courtyard, she found herself encountering many of those she knew and had stopped to briefly converse with them. This of course delayed her journey, but it didn't matter. She had not set a time to see Gaius, it was a surprise visit, and she was sure that she could come any time. Gaius would probably be more then pleased to see her, and even though he was often busy, she was sure she'd still be able to say a quick hello to him. And if Gaius was too busy, then Kadeligh could also come another day.

Eventually Kadeligh was able to tear herself away from her friend and she eventually made it the Gaius' chambers. Knocking on the door, she opened it slowly, not wanting to disturb Gaius if he was in the middle of something. But when the door was fully opened, she found the place empty. All that was there to suggest that someone lived here was the fact that there were various books scattered about, and plates of leftover food. I guess he's out somewhere. Looking at the mess, Kadeligh felt compiled to clean it up, but it wasn't her place to do so. She could, of course use magic, but she didn't wish to get caught. She had only just come into Camelot, she didn't want to be leaving it in any way any time soon.

Having spent most of that morning catering to his masters every whim (which he was going to thoroughly complain about next time he saw Arthur) Merlin was more than glad to finally be out of that horses stable. Now, don't get him wrong, Merlin had absolutely nothing against horses...well yes he does. They are large, smelly and compeltely foul and he really doesn't see what Arthur sees in them. They poo when you've just cleaned them up, they headbutt you and, because there's not much weight on him, he'd ended up on his arse countless times.

He'd had enough!

The trek to Gaius' chambers is a tedious one at that - what with the perverted guards at the door (Gaius still didn't believe they pinched his arse regularly - then again, neither did Arthur) and the nine billion stairs leading up - but add a bruised arse on top of that and he wasn't going anywhere very fast. Rolling his eyes, he pushed past Roland(?) and started on the three mile trek up the stairs. He crashed through the door, completely ignorant of anyone else in the room and began pulling off his stinky clothes, abandoning them in various parts of the room and, by the time he reached his bedroom door, he was only in his breeches and scarf before disappearing from view.

Shuffling about his room, he grimaced as he tugged on one of his oldest shirts (he only had three shirts mind you and they were all the same) but this one was worn thin at the elbows and stretched at the neck to reveal his collarbone while he new breeches he changed into were worn at the knees from kneeling in the fields back in Ealdor. Wandering back out with his armful for the laundry maids, he almost dropped it upon seeing the stranger in the room.

"Umm? Gaius...isn't here?" he offered meekly.

It had only been a few moments since Kadeligh had stood here that she heard the door open. She was now towards the corner of the room, and had been about to pick out a book from the shelf and read it. But as the door opened, she turned her head, expecting to see Gauis. But to her surprise, a young boy almost charged in and began undressing. Now, this wasn't something Kadeligh was used to, nor should she be. True, she had seen her brother without a top, usually that was when she was treating his wounds, but he was family, so it was okay. But this? No, this was something entierly different.

Turning her head away, she tried her hardest not to look. It would be a sin if she looked, and it was bad enough that she used magic, she didn't wish to damn her soul any more then it already was. She knew what she did was wrong, but she couldn't help herself. Magic was a way of connecting with her deceased mother, it was something the two had in common. Even though Kadeligh only used magic for good, the ministers at her Church always said magic was evil and that it was the devil's work. And that had always played on her mind. She didn't want to go to hell, she wanted to have a life with her Lord and Saviour.

As the boy reentered the room, he seemed bewildered to see her. It wasn't surprising, he hadn't noticed her when he had come in, so it was only logical that he'd be surprised to see her standing there. As he spoke, Kadeligh narrowed her eyes slightly, who was this guy? There was something...different about him, something she couldn't quite work out. "Oh, I see, well it cannot be helped, he is a busy man."
