zed wants to buy the dynamix domain for the tribes 1 master servers for $3000 while dynamix is asking $5000, mean while, the majority of respondents to the thread seem to believe that the domain will come with the source code of tribes1, which is a retarded jump to conclusions.

There have been bets as to who can lose the most Tribes related domain names. Zed's name is at or near the top. -_-

None anymore to my knowledge. Tribes related that is. Though he did own quite a few Tribes related domain names for a while until they expired.

Master servers already exist open to the community.

Those who can get the Dynamix domain name can run the master server without people having to alter their configuration.

Anyhow, from what Zed said in the post I linked up there it looks like Sierra is still looking to make money off Tribes.

If they still think they can profit from it, why shut down the Masters at all? Unless by selling the rights or whatever, it's their last-ditch effort to get some cash out of the deal.

If GarageGames owned the domain, the MOTD would be updated frequently, the server would be properly maintained, and we won't have to worry about an egotistical player running around.

No, he's not going to own Tribes. He's going to own dynamix.com. That means he could set up a server on it that is running a master server. SO, people don't have to change anything to continue playing tribes.
