............... how do you know of the ruins, but not of Garland's Temple? The place filled with undead and in the past tons of permachests? That place is outstanding for low-to-mid-to-mid-hi white mages and pretty much anyone with dark armor. It happens to be placed on Newbie Isle.
That's actually a big problem right there. Light spells were supposed to be the alternative to cure spells harming undead greatly. White mages would be fortunate enough to be the only class really effective against the undead naturally. But for some reason, almost HALF the game is weak to Light spells. That's almost not an exaggeration. I don't know if people were trying to be fair to white mages for not being able to kill anything, but honestly the only things that should be weak to light spells are the undead, period. Too many other things like goblins (and a lot of poison monsters, try to figure that one out) are weak to it. The only other thing that should honestly be weak to Light are Dark Dragons and any other heavily dark-based monster, since really most monsters seem evil enough but that doesn't mean so many have to be weak to it. White mages are supposed to be like how black mages are; the best at what they do, but ultimately need help since where they lack really hurts. But because they have the best healing and have an effective way of dealing with many monsters, they only really lack in PvP when it comes to killing other people. This isn't a suggestion for changing the Light spell though, I just want to point out why white mages are so darn good, where the mistake was made basically. |
