So Disney's drawn from some of the best stories of all time, and added their unique touch to all of them! But there are plenty more stories that are ripe for Disney picking. The Brothers Grimm have a vast amount of writing! Are there any old fairy tales or fables that you wish Disney would adapt?

As for myself, I took a Mythology course this past school term, and we had a chapter on comparing fairy tales to myths. We read a few of the Brothers Grimm tales, and one I think would be cute to see Disneyfied would be "THE GOOSE GIRL".
Essentially, a Princess is set off to marry her Prince, whom she's never met. Her mother gives her a magical horse, Falada, and a serving-maid to protect her. Along the way to the new kingdom, the serving-maid forces the Princess to switch places with her, and when they arrive the serving-maid marries the prince and the rightful Princess becomes a servant, made to care for the castle geese. Meanwhile, the serving-maid has Falada the horse killed, for fear he'll give them away. Strangely, the Princess pays a servant to save the horse's head, and they mount it on a castle wall, and it speaks to the Goose-girl whenever she passes (I'm sure Disney would have to work around this one...it's pretty creeptacular haha) While the Goose-girl is avoiding the obnoxious advances of the pervy goose-boy, the King overhears Falada's head addressing the Goose-girl as royalty, and he figures out the truth. He makes sure she gets to marry the prince, as is her right, and they live happily ever after.
I think Disney could flesh out the Prince's role, maybe make him start to fall for the Goose-girl and being upset that he had to marry the false princess. It'd give the Prince and the Goose-girl some sort of relationship.

I actually have a book that contains a complete collection of the Brothers Grimm tales (all 250 or so of them), and I've found several I think would make great Disney films.
    ! Brother and Sister.
    ! Hansel and Gretel.
! The Singing Bone (though it might be too grotesque).
    ! The Iron Stove.
! Prince Swan (could possibly too close to The Swan Princess).
! The Celebration of the Underground Creatures.
    ! Prince Johannes.
    ! Snowflower.
The last two are merely fragments, so Disney could take a lot of freedom with them. There's tons of others too, but these are the ones that just popped off the top of my head. XD

HOLY TOLEDO Ammers XD i swear i didn't see your post at first and i read Ferdinand's first instead and i was like HMM BROTHERS GRIMM...GOOSE GIRL!!! =D

YOU READ MY MIND.

but then i kinda thought it'd be too gruesome i mean they chop off the horse's head and the drops of blood from her mother talk @_@ for Disney...and the ending where the fake princess says what a traitors punishment should be XDD

i like Mother Hulda! (is that what it's called? can't remember, and too lazy to look up online or in my book) but it's kinda like Cinderella. basically about a girl who gets rewarded for--

OH MY GOSH I KNOW WHAT I WANT.

DIAMONDS AND TOADS.

I LOVE THAT STORY.

IT SHOULD BE ANIMATED X3

Wow... no offense, but old fairy tales are beyond creepy. Isn't Diamonds and Toads the one where the greedy girls end up throwing up toads or something?

Personally, I would love to see this book turned into a traditionally animated film. It's a really swet, charming story.
