The Docks Built on Almgeirr's rocky west shore, this cold-water port is the largest source of income for most of the city. Various types of ships use this port: merchant ships, military vessels, and sometimes even pirates.

The Slums The slums are colorless and dingy, with packed-mud streets and run-down houses crammed so close together most neighbors can lean inside each other's windows. A good place to go to find cheap labor, questionable food, hungry people, or a knife in the back.

The Mithril Pony Tucked into the 'nicer' area of the slums is the Mithril Pony, a comfortable tavern and inn. It's a good place to hang out, if you don't mind the muddy streets outside. It's not the nicest establishment in Almgeirr, but the ale is good and the beds are warm.

The Market The Market is little more than a tremendously wide cobbled road that separates the Garden District from the Slums, ringed with all manner of stands, tables, and shops. Where once a strict dawn to dusk curfew was enforced, lately nightingale vendors have been breathing new life into flagging trade by offering booze, women, drugs, and illicit items by cover of moonlight.

The Garden District This district is pretty opulent for a port town of this size; there's no marble to be found, but most of the buildings are of stone or brick construction with open courtyards and dauntingly large doors. The Garden District is so named for its greenery - ornamental ivy disguises the high walls that keep thieves and neighbors away, and every avenue is lined with trees.

The Gates The city gates are wide enough for several carts to pass through all at once, and are deep enough to be rather tunnel-like. It's the only indication that the city was once a place of decent fortification, and is also one of the few places in the city where the law still stands... to whatever degree.

Farmlands The farms just outside of town, a good distance even from the city walls. These farmers are shrewd and cautious - they have to be, to survive the things that the war and the wilderness has thrown their way. They're a community unto themselves, and especially in these hard times, they protect their own.

Forests & Flatlands The woodlands and prairies surrounding Almgeirr. Rumor would have all sorts of terrible beasts inhabiting these places, and it's just as likely deserted soldiers have made homes here. Going unarmed would be considered... hazardous to one's health.

The Killing Fields Not too long ago, battles between armies were fought here. Scattered with unburied bones, broken arrows and still haunted by bands of soldiers with no cause left to fight for, it's an eerie place that's best avoided unless you have an unfortunate deathwish.

The Camp The mercenary camp. Roughly three miles from town, it's not exactly a friendly place, unless you know the right people.
The place is surrounded with fortifications, and guarded at various points. Getting into this encampment is not easy, and sneaking around undetected is very, very difficult.
