Ella walked through the doors of Melba, finally grasping the reality of being back in this hell hole where so many things had happened in the past she surprised herself when she walked out the plane and onto the concrete of the airport. "Still as it was." She whispered to herself as she sat at the bar and waited eagerly to be served. There was so many people she surprised herself by making it to a stool and glancing around, nothing had changed. Woman still rubbed themselves against their partners in time with the music, the men's hands were still in bad places and she didn't want to get started on who was dealing the drugs in this scene because she was afradi incase she knew them.

What surprised her the most as she sat down was that no one knew her. Here she was, famous, toured around Australia and she didn't even recieve a 'Welcome Home' badge hug. But she sighed and smiled and thanked the bartender for her drink, guzzeling it back she made her way to the dancefloor, for old times sake.

ajay had been sitting in the corner of this dump, waiting for someone to turn up and give him an excuse to get loud. he'd been asked for several autographs, but apart from that people had left him to his vodka and solo. yes, he was a pansy. drinking solo and vodka together, it was something that ky had gotten him on when they were in NYC. sitting here, he'd watched as a girl entered melba's, shaking the cold out of her hair and demanding a drink from the bartender. this girl knew the bar way too well. she knew ajay way too well. he slipped out of the booth, and watched a group of people swarm onto it after waiting for someone to give their seat up. ajay made his way over to where this girl was standing and considered tapping her on the shoulder, but instead spun her around to look her in the eyes. her eyes widened, and so did his. well, it's been a long time since we've been in the same room together..

"Rowntree fruit pastels." Ella shouted unsure of what else to have said. It had been too long since they were near each other and things rushed to her now like ever before. "Umm I dont know if I'm meant to scream and leap onto you, or just say my hello's and clear off." She wondered aloud to AJay, still smiling, still unsure. Things couldn't be more awkward, Ella swallowed another shot whole and closed her eyes in hopes it was a dream then slightly opened thm, no he was still there and so was that girl stalking him from behind drooling like mad.

"I would ask how you are but I'm sure I already know the answer and it will consist of you and rolling in money all in the same sentance." She spoke once more, this time a bit more harsh. She didn't know how to talk to him, how to look at him. He was her secret, forbidden love and here he was a s free as a bird, and so was she.

ajay smiled cheekily at her and removed his hands from her shoulders. i reckon i'd prefer the screaming and leaping, but hey, it's totally up to you right now. they stood there, awkwardly in the middle of people dancing and drinking. he'd noticed the crazy stalker fan behind him in the reflection of the glass behind the bar, and as she neared him ajay spun around and whipped out his sharpie. okay, cheek, stomach or tits? thanks for supporting brightlights, ky the bassist is hanging out at the venue right now, go see him for a signature. but be careful, his wife could possibly be with him, so please no groping. he turned back to ella after quickly scrawling his name across this girl's tits. ajay quickly lead ella out of the club into the dark cold night, so that the pumping music was faint and muffled by the thick walls. so, what's been happening since we last talked?

Ella pouted as she watched him smile cheeckily before becoming afraid as she heard about ky and his wife. She still wasn't sure why he married her, she got her friends to beat Ella to a pulp, which they did. but Ky was still there for her and he also was in love with her. Something she still couldn't accept.

Walking out of the club, the air hit Ella quickly, the fresh air doing wonder's to her thoughts. "Well as you know I have been a busy bee in Australia with Josh and with the amount of money we made we bought a place in australia right on the coast of Sydney. Its beautiful there you would love it. And the house, just like everything i want. Its small and has that cottage feel." She smiled and squinted her eyes as she imagined it. "What have you been doing since will last talked?"

ajay's face fell as he listened to her harp on about the great new place she'd gotten with josh. who the fuck was josh, the little shit? ella was officially off the market, and now there was absolutely no one that ajay could see himself spending the rest of his life with back here in chicago. except ky, but he wasn't going to go there again, that was one fucked up path he'd travelled before. now she was on about sydney. where the fuck was sydney? he recollected his few stray thoughts of the tour they'd had through australia, but he couldn't remember a place called sydney. but there had been a lot of weed smoked on that trip, and plenty of bottles of vodka and tequila drunk while on the road. he cleared his throat nervously and planted a smile on his face again, josh..? i don't think i remember him

Ella was too busy thinking about sydney when she noticed AJay's face turned into a state of confusion. "Josh. You dont remember Josh? He was my guitarist after Eric. He used to come over when we got together. You honestly dont remember him?" Ella asked once more tucking a strand of hair behind her hair. "But anyway becuase we liked the place so much and we didn't have enough to buy one seperately, we went halves and bought one together. He wanted one to take his girlfriend to so I helped him out and now we a have part share on a house." She continued hardly stopping for breath. "I mean yeah we dated but it wasn't as good as being friends so now here we are...freinds." She smiled and then looked at AJay who appeared to slowly catch on to what she was saying, or acting that he did.

ajay snapped back to reality after listening to elle harp on about some guy he could barely remember from ten years ago. he smiled, well, brightlights are finally out there. and we're pretty much rolling in it right now, but i didn't tell you that. ky's decided that we needed to move back here for a break before we start to tour and record again, so we're back in chicago. taking in a deep breath and lighting a cigarette, he took a proper look at ella. age agreed with her and as she'd matured, her beauty had grown as well. wow, so this was the girl he'd dreamt of almost every night for the last 10 years? even when he was with other women, ella was something that he compared them to. they had to be playful like her, or be able to stand his fantastically horrible bedhair in the morning. it was tiring, but now she was here again, and that's all that mattered to him.

"Yeah I was waiting for that bit to come." She smiled cheekily and chuckled. God she missed AJay so much. He was everything to her, even when she dated Ky, and even though she loved him, Ajay still managed to take her breath away when they shared tubs of ice-cream. Hell he was even their to listen as Ella ranted on jumping bust size to bust size, all he had to do was smile and Ella would fall from the sky once more- Actual that sounded like a good start to a great song, she kept note. But what she couldn't ever grasp was his smoking. AJay must have started a few years into their friendship and that light thing always held her back but it always turned her on at the same time. "I've missed you Rowntree!" She shouted and clung to his body, her hands all over his back as she smiled into his chest, planting a small kiss right in the centre.

"Lets get out of here, lets go back to mine!" She broke out and grabbed his hand, pulling him, urging him to follow.

ajay was a little shocked, to be honest. as someone who never usually made the first move, ella was now urging him along like there was no tomorrow. here she was, one second rambling on about tis josh character, and now she wanted him to go back to her place with him? where was she staying right now? hopefully it wasn't with those parents of hers. they hated ajay with a passion, and if he turned up to that house, they'd definitely crack the shits at both of them. but nethertheless, he let her pull him along, then stopped as the neared the venue. i reckon we should pay ky a little visit, it's been a while since you saw him he was purposely doing this to see how both of them reacted, and to see if ella was truly over his best friend.
