Diamondpearlhacking > Graphics > DP Mapping Program!?
Posted by: DP Master Sep 30 2007, 04:30 AM
My friend, Kojo lives in Japan , and he said " I have a DP mapper." I was VERY happy, but he did not give me more info on that or a link PS: We write by letter, so i will get more info on Friday.
Posted by: Hiidoran Sep 30 2007, 04:32 AM
You know, I've heard of a mapping tool for D/P that's in Japanese. Only problem is I can't seem to find any sort of link or person who knows the link. If you can get him to join and maybe we can discuss...
Posted by: DP Master Sep 30 2007, 05:01 AM
I have heard rumors aswell, i shall look into it. Well if such a tools does exist and i will be sure to give you the link
Posted by: Ooka Sep 30 2007, 06:25 AM
Well, my dad's computer can't view Japanese, but if either of your guys computers can, just go to google.co.jp and search for it. You have a way better chance with that.

Hm, i wonder...you see i have this theory about DP mapping, that the normal elevation which is the ground is tiles and the trees, mountains, etc are 3-d objects, so that you just place those objects anywhere with out difficult tiling and that you can place them anywhere, that way wen you walk up or down objects or pass by buildings, it is 3-d, due to the elevation and view the your OW (main character), at least that is what i think, if that is true it would be awesome, due to the fact that all that tile mapping will be easier...thank god...lol Well I would like to hear more theories...do tell DP Hacking members...
Posted by: Hiidoran Sep 30 2007, 04:46 PM
Hmm... That sounds pretty reasonable. Though, I'm not sure myself how they mapped it, it's obvious they did in fact move from using their original "x" and "y" planes to, "x", "y", and "z" planes. How they have done this, however; I am unsure. Hopefully someone with a large brain will figure this out for the rest of us still very far in the dark...
Posted by: Cyberwing Oct 2 2007, 10:19 PM
Meh, i'll look around for it,
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 2 2007, 10:31 PM
Can peoplez be a bit quieter? My head hurts from all this maths stuff...
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 2 2007, 10:47 PM
No problem Spenc, it's Algebra. Basically the "x" and "y" planes are those that go vertically and horizontally. This is 2D. The "z" plane adds deph to the mix. This is 3D. It's really not that hard to understand once you get used to it. On topic: I haven't really looked a lot, but I have searched some and I can't seem to find it... Oh well, I'm sure it will appear sometime.
Posted by: DP Master Oct 2 2007, 10:56 PM
Algebra is a pain.....(sorry offtopic XD)
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 3 2007, 08:35 AM
I can't wait till Dad unlocks YouTube (He locked it) because if people discover things that is there first destination... We might be able to find mapper names there...
Posted by: gbae_k Oct 3 2007, 01:32 PM
i've only found one interesting, real looking hacking video of d/p on youtube. back on topic, do you know the name of the mapping program? cuz going on google.jp and searching "pokemon rom hacking" never works (obviously).
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 3 2007, 09:20 PM
Well actually, we're debating over whether there is one at all... It seems a lot of people claim to be working on one, most of the time with great success, but I'm still not sure. Yes, looking on google.jp won't really work all that well unless you search a Japanese term.
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 3 2007, 11:51 PM
Well, I think that the best chance of finding it is like this: 1. Go to an online translator and translate something like "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Map Editor" from English to Japanese. 2. Copy the translation into the Japanese Google search bar 3. Try and learn japanese (or just translate the page into English) 4. Press Control+F and type in "Map Editor" (or something similar) 5. If it's not there, try the next search result Well, that's just the way I think someone should at least try.
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 4 2007, 12:10 AM
Well... That might work for some things, but... Google's (or any other) online translator is not so good with Japanese. Actually, It makes complete babble out of the language. You can try, but the results probably wouldn't come out too good. Also, we have a resident Japanese expert here, DP Master. He knows Japanese pretty well.
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 4 2007, 12:18 AM
Well then i guess we don't have to learn Japanese if he could read all of the Japanese on the Japanese websites, maybe we could find a map editor!
Posted by: DP Master Oct 4 2007, 12:28 PM
Yes i speak it quite fluently, but sadly google does not have that many links o japanese sites, even typing in Japanese is not enough,..so it might take awhile to actually find anything related to it, but i will keep trying!
Posted by: gabe_k Oct 4 2007, 12:38 PM
i found a japanese hacking site today, but it just had gba hacking stuff. i'll keep looking.
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 7 2007, 04:27 AM
I'm still looking, I used bable fish the other day on a japanese website, but me too found only GBA hacking stuff...
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 7 2007, 04:48 AM
Don't give up guys! This will be the revolution in Diamond and Pearl hacking! Near Full Encompasing hacks will be possible. Giant projects will be launched..... Sorry, I'm starting to drool. XD
Posted by: gabe_k Oct 7 2007, 01:37 PM
i thought in japan they had dp map editors. maybe i should look on winny.
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 7 2007, 04:19 PM
Well, I was looking for one, but the only mape editors that I could find for the DS were Animal Crossing ones (Weird, isn't it?). I'll keep trying, though!
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 7 2007, 05:01 PM
Well that means were getting closer, right? If there is an animal crossing map editor, a Pokemon D/P map editor is definitely possible.
| Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 7 2007, 05:05 PM | ||
Yeah, who ever would've thought someone would make an Animal Crossing map editor before a D/P map editor? Oh well, I'll keep looking! |
Posted by: loganmaster123 Oct 9 2007, 12:29 AM
DP Master if you speak Japanese, you should fly to Japan talk to some little hacker kid dude person and ask what its called. BTW I wont pay for the ticket. XP
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 9 2007, 04:12 AM
Or, just maybe now..., he could use E-mail! No need to buy a ticket to Japan to speak to someone from there. Though going to Japan would be awsome!
| Posted by: DP Master Oct 9 2007, 06:06 AM | ||
You have not been to Japan? I have been to tokyo twice, since my grandmother lives there. |
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 9 2007, 08:45 PM
Sadly no... I am poor and can't afford such expensive airline tickets. But, never fear! I might get to go this summer, if not it will be next summer.
Posted by: DP Master Oct 11 2007, 10:25 PM
Actually, there is a DP mapping program, i looked on yahoo answers, and i found the same questions and i saw a link, followed it , and on the site i have to be registered to see the content, now i am waiting approval from a webmaster...
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 11 2007, 10:30 PM
If you can get this tool that would be so awsome! Full hacks, We're coming! voice in a crowd: What about scripts? Hiidoran: *takes out gun* Who said that?! Was it you!? *shot* Sorry, I felt like being a bit weird.
| Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 11 2007, 11:21 PM | ||
Lol, but still, DP Master, you might've found a DP map editor! If the site you're talking about has no ROMs or Emulators on it, could you post a link? I'd like to see this myself. |
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 11 2007, 11:25 PM
I definetly agree with Evan, and even if it does have roms and such, our E-mails are not the boards responsibility... *hint* *hint*
| Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 11 2007, 11:27 PM | ||
Lol, yeah, hints (and E-mails) are very nice! *hint* *hint* (LOL) |
| Posted by: loganmaster123 Oct 12 2007, 03:11 PM | ||
Oh LUCKY! I'm only 11 so I wouldn't be able to go. My brother just takes French and German in college so no Japan trip for him. And he's already in Indiana. But if i was older and had the money I would definitely go! |
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 12 2007, 11:26 PM
Yay! I thought Jacob (Sorry I meant Cobja, he anagrams his name from time to time) and I were the only 11 year-olds. Also, can you tell me where the question on yahoo answers is? I'd like to join that site to get at the D/P mapping program... OMG I'm starting to drool
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 13 2007, 04:03 PM
Lol, I just turned 12 on September 21! (Not TOO long ago!
Posted by: DP Master Oct 13 2007, 10:08 PM
http://diamantecortar.com
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 13 2007, 10:34 PM
Um... DP. That's not a site. Or at least, it's not anymore. It doesn't even begin to load, it just automatically goes to "Page can not be displayed". Bah! I wanted to see it!
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 13 2007, 11:20 PM
Yeah, Hiidoran is right, that site doesn't exist...
| Posted by: DP Master Oct 13 2007, 11:22 PM | ||
It does, what web browser are you using? I am using my sis' laptop, try using Firefox |
| Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 13 2007, 11:27 PM | ||||
Well, I don't have FireFox, |
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 13 2007, 11:44 PM
I use FireFox, and it isn't working. DP, can you quickly post the link to the Yahoo answers page???? I gotta see this with my own eyes. I'm going to search for the site on google. If I find it, I'll post a link.
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 14 2007, 12:32 AM
I use firefox as well, and I can't get it to work. Try saving it as an HTML and load it to the site.
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 14 2007, 04:24 PM
Yeah, I have no idea what Hiidoran just said, but if it would work, then please do that!
| Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 14 2007, 09:38 PM | ||
He said this: Blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah, blah. Just kidding. He meant save the web page and upload it somewhere so it would provide a link |
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 14 2007, 09:53 PM
Yes, that way we could still see, even though all links or other such things on the site would not work.
Posted by: gabe_k Oct 15 2007, 12:48 AM
wowznessattuideage! if it is a mapping program i wants it!!! if ya get it plz upload somewhere were we can download it. btw, http://diamantecortar.com didn't work for me
| Posted by: loganmaster123 Oct 20 2007, 02:34 PM | ||
Yeah please post the yahoo answers page. Then that site might work if we get the direct link from someone who has (to our knowledge) has been on it. |

One of mine and Spenceroone3 friends CLAIM to have a relitive that made advance map and says he has a D/P hacking program. That most likely is a load of crap (Mind that....) because he lies on a regular basis and has an action replay..... But he has said on many occasions that he FORGOT or he CANT REMEMBER or CANT TELL YOU, SORRY. So yeaH, real sorry I couldnt help guys *
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 22 2007, 08:07 PM
Unless Spence's cousin is German, he didn't help make AdvanceMap. It was a completly German program until an English INI was made. Liars are really annoying...
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 22 2007, 09:39 PM
My cousin has nothing to do with this Cobja619. It is only Raymond, remember???
Posted by: Cobja619 Oct 24 2007, 07:29 AM
Yeah, Raymond can be a bit of a bast.... sorry, expressing anger! He lies heaps, Ok? *
Posted by: loganmaster123 Oct 28 2007, 11:23 PM
Wow! We are really progressing with the mapping program! We already have 51 replies. BTW I still think you should post the Yahoo answers page, it would really help.
Posted by: krazedkat Nov 6 2007, 08:16 PM
so no ones found it yet well im not giving up im still searching !!!!!! i shall hack with FREEDOM and a map editor..... closest ive gotten = http://youtube.com/watch?v=6T-x5BYOKFY
Posted by: Cobja619 Nov 8 2007, 10:07 AM
THATS THE SPIRIT! C'MON GUYS, IF WE PUT OUR HEADS TOGETHER WE CAN FIGURE THIS OUT! YOU KNOW WHY? COZ WE'RE DIAMONDPEARLHACKING FOR GODNESS SAKES! MORE WORDS FROM A YOUNG GRASSHOPPER *
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Nov 8 2007, 08:42 PM
Hmmm... I'm gonna try Google Advanced Search. Maybe that will get me a little closer...
Posted by: Coin3 Nov 15 2007, 06:57 PM
Well I was seaching with my hex editor in a Jpn version of diamond and found this. It has to mean something. It says grass for goodness sake. |
Posted by: loganmaster123 Nov 15 2007, 11:56 PM
It also says conttree2 so could it mean a continuous tree squared? I doubt that though... Bleh I don't understand hex. EDIT It says tshadow also so it could mean "trainer shadow". Right?
Posted by: Hiidoran Nov 16 2007, 10:53 PM
Interesting, have you tried changing it?
| Posted by: Coin3 Nov 16 2007, 10:56 PM | ||
No, but it will be easy to find when I try to change it. Since the pic has the offset. |
| Posted by: Virtual Chatot Nov 19 2007, 10:51 PM | ||
^ That's specific data the game uses to map, shadowing and such in the difference between weather patterns |
Posted by: Hiidoran Nov 20 2007, 04:32 AM
Thank you for that Virtual, and welcome to the forums! Have fun and post often.
Posted by: Virtual Chatot Nov 20 2007, 09:51 PM
Thanks, and I'm happy to be here
Posted by: DP Master Dec 1 2007, 02:57 AM
I hear that some Japanese wiz is working on a DP Mapping program, I doubt it is true, but you never know...
Posted by: gabe_k Dec 1 2007, 02:16 PM
"you never know"-ing hasn't gotten us that far yet, i think we should experiment with what spence did
Posted by: Virtual Chatot Dec 2 2007, 03:13 AM
Before we had Advancemap, and we were all toying around with Goldmap, people had rumors about a similar Japanese Wiz making one... Most likely, this is just a fake rumor drawn up to make people more jumpy about D/P Hacking
Posted by: foofatron Dec 14 2007, 02:22 AM
Geeze if u want to hack the game so bad then just learn arm 7 and 9 asm. BTW the so called word stuff is just crap tiles, nothing special. That is not a map its a tileset which I sugjust u don't edit unless u know of the tile u wish to replace it with and how to insert it. Meh, I'm not going to hack dp until theres any good dissasemblers and assemblers or just a good studio.
Posted by: Kike-Scott Jan 3 2008, 06:28 PM
A DP map editor is under construction: http://pokeguide.filb.de/index.php?subaction=showcomments&id=1172177095&archive=&start_from=&ucat=& It's made by Pika, for now it just shows the data, with textures of course. Maybe someone can ask Pika how this tool it's going.
Posted by: Forgotten Memory Jan 3 2008, 07:29 PM
Maps! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ not really great mapviewer so far tho. If you can answer the following question you officially know more useless stuff about pokemon than filb does (which would be pretty amazing): What dp map could this be: ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats what is on Pika's site, Kike Scott is right.
Posted by: Hiidoran Jan 4 2008, 08:10 PM
Actually, I've know about this for a long time. I could have sworn that this was already here... As most of you can see, Pika does not post often, and when he does he doesn't follow through with most of his ideas. As for now, I consider this to be fake. Though I would love to be proven wrong!
Posted by: Virtual Chatot Jan 4 2008, 09:46 PM
We are going to have to wait and see, If one is in progress, its only a matter of time before we have a public one up. If it truly is, this is great news
Posted by: Nostalgia Jan 14 2008, 01:19 AM
If Pika follows through on this endeavor, this is great news. I want to be able to hack DP. If he does, you can bet I'll make a hack. If that sounded unenthusiastic, sorry. It was supposed to be enthusiastic.
Posted by: gabe_k Jan 14 2008, 01:21 AM
YAY! so did my pm work?
Posted by: Nostalgia Jan 14 2008, 01:23 AM
I guess. But I have to ask, what does your username mean? Note To The Moderating Team: Sorry for the Irrelevant post...
