Diamondpearlhacking > Emulators > iDeaS Vs. No$Gba
Posted by: Hiidoran Sep 27 2007, 03:47 AM
Currently there are two emulators used a lot. These are iDeaS and No$Gba. While most people are loyal to no$Gba because it was the first to support DS emulation, many people are switching over to iDeaS because of it's proclaimed better usability. So what do you think, which do you use? Personally I prefer No$Gba simply because I'm used to it. I've tried out iDeaS, but I went back to the good ol' emulator. Opinions?

Well, it's the same for me as it is for you, I'm just used to no$Gba so I stick with it.

Well i tried iDeaS first, but it failed, so i tried No$GBA, and have been a loyal user of it ever since ^^ PS: I strongly recommend No$GBA

Well, IdeaS has been changed a lot since it's first release. When they released their first beta, you couldn't even play commercial games. Supposedly, It has become much better, but I still prefer what I know.

Does IdeaS have the black pit as well?

Hm, i am not sure since i have not used iDeaS for many months now.

I'm not sure either, for the same reason in fact. I should probably look into downloading iDeaS again and taking a good look at it's work. Supposedly It's easier to open save files...

People have said that is it hard to save a using No$GBA, but i have had no problems at all saving, not once.

Well... my choice is the NO$GBA... but Kazaam back at Pokecommunity needed the Debugger on iDeaS so i downloaded iDeaS to see the difference. My summary is that I think No$GBA is way better because it has good sound to it but doesn't have all graphics. Where as iDeaS has All graphics but sounds like a dead Chatot (Trust me I heard one the other day). P.S I think you should run a POLL on this.

LOL! Yeah he has a point N0$GBA has quality sound.

Yes, the sound and graphics aren't quite that great on iDeaS. It does, however; run a lot smoother. I believe I will turn this into a poll.

i thought ideas couldn't run d/p, i just tried it a few days ago.

Are you sure you have the latest version? I just downloaded it recently and it worked fine for me. In fact, Dialga almost loads completly with it.

just got it working, worst lag i've ever seen, i've emulated a gamecube better then that. no$gba pwnz
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 4 2007, 08:04 PM
Hmm... It runs relatively fast for me. I don't know, do you have a lot of hacking applications on your computer? They take up a lot of space which could cause the emulator to be slower. Me, I have a brand new laptop, so mine runs fine.

i've used up almost all of my 310 gigs of hdd space

i usually use ideas. you can increse the speed in it. also, i got kinda freaked out when i saw this pic of dialgia on diamond... wasn't used to seeing it... anyway, im thinking of trying Dsemu next... but, i like ideas since it can run megaman zx
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 7 2007, 02:01 AM
Yeah, I suppose I'm starting to lean towards iDeaS more too. Besides the outlines of the polygons being shown and the music; it's supieror to No$Gba. But, I'm not sure which I like best just yet.
Posted by: gabe_k Oct 7 2007, 02:19 AM
i'm VERY sure dsemu dosn't run pokemon
Posted by: Hiidoran Oct 7 2007, 02:58 AM
When was the last time your used it? Most of the DS emulators will at least run commercial games partialy. Ever since no$Gba gained DS emulation, the other did as well. I'm sure they just cracked No$Gba though...
Posted by: gabe_k Oct 7 2007, 03:10 AM
i think i got it confused with another ds emulator. NDeSmuME dosn't work for d/p
Posted by: Spenceroone3 Oct 7 2007, 04:36 AM
Yeah, I agree. Ideas is starting to match No$GBA big-time.
Posted by: gabe_k Oct 7 2007, 01:18 PM
when i ran it on ideas it just didn't look as good as on no$gba (execpt the dialga)
Posted by: EvanMiesterX Oct 7 2007, 03:54 PM
I'm not really sure which is better. For me, No$GBA doesn't even work, but iDeaS does, but iDeaS is running HORRIBLY! The graphics are all messed up, the sound is really bad, and it's just plain horrible!
