Title: G/S Remake
Description: Do you think there will be one?
EvanMiesterX - November 4, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
Well, I personally think there will be, because there is quite a bit of evidence. Here is some I have collected:
1) If you go into Sappy, and open up an Emerald ROM, there are remixes of some G/S/C music.
2) The mentioning of a Red Gyarados in the beginning of D/P.
3) Fire Red and Leaf Green. If they made a Gen 1 remae in Gen 3, then why wouldn't they make a Gen 2 remake in Gen 4?
4) G/S were probably the most popular and maybe the best pokemon games ever.
5) Nintendo would make HUGE money.
Do you think there will be a G/S remake? DO you want there to be one? If you have any evidence post it here, you can also post here with what you think about it, like if you want one, and why.

Just imagine how many people would buy one! Hundreds, thousands, HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! A G/S remake would proabably be the best decision Game Freak has made ever.

nah, i'd say that the pokemon series was the best decision game freak ever made

That is DEFINITELY proof. It is obviously programmed to track Pokemon from johto, so that is jolly good proof.

Or, It could come from another future knock-off game. Since that commercial is for a knock-off series of pokemon, it definetly seems that it could be that way. One thing that could deter Gamefreak from making a Gold & Silver remake could be the fact that it is already possible to catch all the pokemon in all regions. So personally, I believe ithe location is more than likely going to come from another game like Ranger and such.
Unlike most people, I actually don't want Gamefreak to make a Gold & Silver remake. Don't get me wrong though! That was my favorite series... next to Diamond & Pearl that is. No, that just wouldn't be a fun idea. Nintendo really made a Red/Green/Blue remake to instill a sense of nostalgia in their old gamers. They were basically trying to say, "Hey, we haven't changed too much aside from our look, see for yourself!" Plus it served a purpose, you could get Kanto (and some Johto pokemon) from it.

Yes, but Game Freak's real purpose for all of their games it MONEY! I mean seriously, imagine just how many people would buy it, and how much money they would make! Also,

The best decision within the pokemon series would be a G/S remake.

I'm telling you guys, they won't do it. Sure, it would make them some money, but a lot of people, including myself, would think that they are getting desperate. We don't need a Gold/ Silver remake. It was a great game! But, right now we're just fine with the games we have. If you want Johto pokemon, play Coliseum and XD. All I see in the future is a knock-off game of May's coordinator series.
Sorry, but this is how I feel.

So what about us people that don't have colloseum or XD? I've played them before and I never really liked them, they were just to weird... I, along with a lot of other people, want a G/S remake, I would buy one almost as soon as it came out. Also, what other kind of game would they make? I sure can't think of any.

Personally, I hated Coliseum and XD. But, that's how you get Raikou, Entei, and Suicune; along with a few other Johto pokemon not available in FR/LG. Since you can trade those to your GBA and then migrate your pokemon from your GBA to Diamond & Pearl, Gold and Silver wouldn't really serve a purpose. Then again; Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald didn't really have purposes either.
Like I have previously said many times, the Johto thing will more than likely come from a knock-off game. DP showed us a commercial for an up-coming knock-off series of pokemon where May and her "friends" go around Johto. I believe they will make a game around this. Maybe at the end you can sent some of your pokemon from that game to Diamond and Pearl, knowing special moves or something, I don't know.
If they did actually make a remake; however, I would still buy and play it. Untill then I'm very satisfied with Shiny Gold by Zel. He's currently taking a break, but he's almost completly done. Johto, the elite four, and most of Kanto are already mapped, scripted, and ready to play.
EvanMiesterX - November 4, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)
You see, even though a G/S remake is unnecessary, so were all of those games you talked about. You actually can get Entei, Raikou, or Suicune in FR/LG, depending on which starter you chose, and you can get The Johto starters in Emerald, and some other Johto pokemon in the Emerald Safari Zone Extension, so Collosueum and XD were also pretty much unnecesarry.
Hiidoran - November 4, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
Actually, there were still some pokeon unavailable anywhere else but Coliseum and XD. Plus, there was only one small event that most people didn't get to recieve the ticket to go and catch Lugia and Ho-oh in FR/LG. So, XD and Coliseum allowed you to recieve these pokemon. BTW, what does Emerald having re-vamped Gold & Silver have anything to do with them remaking it on the DS? Also, I do believe the only reason they make third additions to their previous versions, Yellow and such, are for promotional purposes. In my opinion they are made for tradition and to hold off fans while they develop the next generation. But, I tire of disscussing this, so I will take my leave now. :ph43r:
