Title: DP Mapping Program!?
Description: Is this true?
DP Master - September 30, 2007 04:30 AM (GMT)
My friend, Kojo lives in Japan , and he said " I have a DP mapper." I was VERY happy, but he did not give me more info on that or a link :( , but i will ask him again soon! If there is such a program i will sure to notify Hiidoran immediately, so with that i hope to learn more.
PS: We write by letter, so i will get more info on Friday.
Hiidoran - September 30, 2007 04:32 AM (GMT)
You know, I've heard of a mapping tool for D/P that's in Japanese. Only problem is I can't seem to find any sort of link or person who knows the link. If you can get him to join and maybe we can discuss...
DP Master - September 30, 2007 05:01 AM (GMT)
I have heard rumors aswell, i shall look into it. Well if such a tools does exist and i will be sure to give you the link ;)
Ooka - September 30, 2007 06:25 AM (GMT)
Well, my dad's computer can't view Japanese, but if either of your guys computers can, just go to google.co.jp and search for it. You have a way better chance with that.
DP Master - September 30, 2007 10:48 AM (GMT)
Hm, i wonder...you see i have this theory about DP mapping, that the normal elevation which is the ground is tiles and the trees, mountains, etc are 3-d objects, so that you just place those objects anywhere with out difficult tiling and that you can place them anywhere, that way wen you walk up or down objects or pass by buildings, it is 3-d, due to the elevation and view the your OW (main character), at least that is what i think, if that is true it would be awesome, due to the fact that all that tile mapping will be easier...thank god...lol
Well I would like to hear more theories...do tell DP Hacking members...
Hiidoran - September 30, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
Hmm... That sounds pretty reasonable. Though, I'm not sure myself how they mapped it, it's obvious they did in fact move from using their original "x" and "y" planes to, "x", "y", and "z" planes. How they have done this, however; I am unsure. Hopefully someone with a large brain will figure this out for the rest of us still very far in the dark...
Cyberwing - October 2, 2007 10:19 PM (GMT)
Meh, i'll look around for it,
Spenceroone3 - October 2, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
Can peoplez be a bit quieter? My head hurts from all this maths stuff...
Hiidoran - October 2, 2007 10:47 PM (GMT)
No problem Spenc, it's Algebra. Basically the "x" and "y" planes are those that go vertically and horizontally. This is 2D. The "z" plane adds deph to the mix. This is 3D. It's really not that hard to understand once you get used to it.
On topic: I haven't really looked a lot, but I have searched some and I can't seem to find it... Oh well, I'm sure it will appear sometime.
DP Master - October 2, 2007 10:56 PM (GMT)
Algebra is a pain.....(sorry offtopic XD)
Spenceroone3 - October 3, 2007 08:35 AM (GMT)
I can't wait till Dad unlocks YouTube (He locked it) because if people discover things that is there first destination... We might be able to find mapper names there...
gbae_k - October 3, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
i've only found one interesting, real looking hacking video of d/p on youtube. back on topic, do you know the name of the mapping program? cuz going on google.jp and searching "pokemon rom hacking" never works (obviously).
Hiidoran - October 3, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
Well actually, we're debating over whether there is one at all... It seems a lot of people claim to be working on one, most of the time with great success, but I'm still not sure. Yes, looking on google.jp won't really work all that well unless you search a Japanese term.
EvanMiesterX - October 3, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
Well, I think that the best chance of finding it is like this:
1. Go to an online translator and translate something like "Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Map Editor" from English to Japanese.
2. Copy the translation into the Japanese Google search bar
3. Try and learn japanese (or just translate the page into English)
4. Press Control+F and type in "Map Editor" (or something similar)
5. If it's not there, try the next search result
Well, that's just the way I think someone should at least try.
Hiidoran - October 4, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
Well... That might work for some things, but... Google's (or any other) online translator is not so good with Japanese. Actually, It makes complete babble out of the language. You can try, but the results probably wouldn't come out too good. Also, we have a resident Japanese expert here, DP Master. He knows Japanese pretty well.
EvanMiesterX - October 4, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
Well then i guess we don't have to learn Japanese if he could read all of the Japanese on the Japanese websites, maybe we could find a map editor!
DP Master - October 4, 2007 12:28 PM (GMT)
Yes i speak it quite fluently, but sadly google does not have that many links o japanese sites, even typing in Japanese is not enough,..so it might take awhile to actually find anything related to it, but i will keep trying!
gabe_k - October 4, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
i found a japanese hacking site today, but it just had gba hacking stuff. i'll keep looking.
Spenceroone3 - October 7, 2007 04:27 AM (GMT)
I'm still looking, I used bable fish the other day on a japanese website, but me too found only GBA hacking stuff...
Hiidoran - October 7, 2007 04:48 AM (GMT)
Don't give up guys! This will be the revolution in Diamond and Pearl hacking! Near Full Encompasing hacks will be possible. Giant projects will be launched..... Sorry, I'm starting to drool. XD
gabe_k - October 7, 2007 01:37 PM (GMT)
i thought in japan they had dp map editors. maybe i should look on winny.
EvanMiesterX - October 7, 2007 04:19 PM (GMT)
Well, I was looking for one, but the only mape editors that I could find for the DS were Animal Crossing ones (Weird, isn't it?). I'll keep trying, though!
Hiidoran - October 7, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
Well that means were getting closer, right? If there is an animal crossing map editor, a Pokemon D/P map editor is definitely possible.

Yeah, who ever would've thought someone would make an Animal Crossing map editor before a D/P map editor? Oh well, I'll keep looking! :)
loganmaster123 - October 9, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
DP Master if you speak Japanese, you should fly to Japan talk to some little hacker kid dude person and ask what its called. BTW I wont pay for the ticket. XP
Hiidoran - October 9, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Or, just maybe now..., he could use E-mail! No need to buy a ticket to Japan to speak to someone from there. Though going to Japan would be awsome!

You have not been to Japan? I have been to tokyo twice, since my grandmother lives there.
Hiidoran - October 9, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
Sadly no...
I am poor and can't afford such expensive airline tickets. But, never fear! I might get to go this summer, if not it will be next summer.
DP Master - October 11, 2007 10:25 PM (GMT)
Actually, there is a DP mapping program, i looked on yahoo answers, and i found the same questions and i saw a link, followed it , and on the site i have to be registered to see the content, now i am waiting approval from a webmaster...
Hiidoran - October 11, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
If you can get this tool that would be so awsome! Full hacks, We're coming!
voice in a crowd: What about scripts?
Hiidoran: *takes out gun* Who said that?! Was it you!? *shot*
Sorry, I felt like being a bit weird.

Lol, but still, DP Master, you might've found a DP map editor! If the site you're talking about has no ROMs or Emulators on it, could you post a link? I'd like to see this myself.
Hiidoran - October 11, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
I definetly agree with Evan, and even if it does have roms and such, our E-mails are not the boards responsibility... *hint* *hint*

Oh LUCKY! I'm only 11 so I wouldn't be able to go. My brother just takes French and German in college so no Japan trip for him. And he's already in Indiana. But if i was older and had the money I would definitely go!
Spenceroone3 - October 12, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)
Yay! I thought Jacob (Sorry I meant Cobja, he anagrams his name from time to time) and I were the only 11 year-olds. Also, can you tell me where the question on yahoo answers is? I'd like to join that site to get at the D/P mapping program... OMG I'm starting to drool
EvanMiesterX - October 13, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Lol, I just turned 12 on September 21! (Not TOO long ago! :P) Yeah, could you please post either a direct link to the site (if there are no ROMs/Emulators on it) or a link to the Yahoo Answers page, I would really like to see this because, right now, mapping is the only part of hacking that I'm good at! :D
DP Master - October 13, 2007 10:08 PM (GMT)
Hiidoran - October 13, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
Um... DP. That's not a site. Or at least, it's not anymore. It doesn't even begin to load, it just automatically goes to "Page can not be displayed".
Bah! I wanted to see it!
EvanMiesterX - October 13, 2007 11:20 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Hiidoran is right, that site doesn't exist... :(
