In Spring of '08, China made a proposal that makes a standard in allowing IP address tracing. For those who don't know, an IP address is, in a nutshell, essentially your internet address, more or less. And now the UN is beginning to agree with China. Generally, the fear is that the standard will be used by governments to suppress opposition, which is against the UN's own Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
