If I recall correctly, my first King book was either The Shining or The Stand. And also The Long Walk -- although that's technically Bachman. ;D

What about yours?

It was my first King book, which I read in high school. Then we had The Long Walk laying around the house and I started reading it. The next thing I knew it was nearly four hours later and I'd read the entire book. That started my hunger for the rest of his works, but it was when I read Stand By Me that really cinched King has one of my favorite authors of all time.

The Long Walk was my first (read it when I was 10) and remains not only my favorite SK book, but my favorite book overall.

THIS SOUNDS REMARKABLY FAMILIAR, LOL.

I feel the same exact way -- I haven't read a book since that ever made me feel the way TLW did/still does.
